Label describes it as a "Bavarian-Style Weissbier brewed with rose hips and honey"

A - A hazy body of light yellow-orange sits beneath a finger or two of thick white head, a good half a finger lingers for quite a while. Lacing is ample.

S - Belgian yeast aromas are prominent, the nose is very similar to that of another Lucette beer, Double Dawn. Beyond that, some fruity esters linger around with no hops detectable.

T - Tastes somewhere between a weissbier and a belgian pale ale with plenty of fruity ester notes to go around. I don't know what a rose hip tastes like, but I can assume it lends to the fruity and vaguely floral flavor present.

M - The body on this beer is delectable - very smooth, rich and creamy. Easy to drink.

O - A relatively unoffensive brew that still maintains its integrity by being loaded with flavor. Will buy again, and am glad to see Lucette continue to can some great beer.

Hips Don't Lie pours a dark reddish-copper color with a small but lacing head. There is a nice earthy, sweet and almost smokey aroma. The tase has a nice creamy wheat backbone, rose hips noticeable, and a nice well mixing sweetness from the honey that lingers as the beer goes down. Great body, great feel, great flavors, love the lingering flavors. Overall a very nice complex and creamy Hefeweizen.

Poured into conic glass

A Orange/amber. Filtered and transparent. Inch and a half of thick white head. Lots of bubbles and carbonation. A damn fine looking brew.

S Bready. Toasted grains. Wheat. Barley. Some rye. Certainly hints of orange and lemon peel. Flowery (obviously the rose hips.)

T Crisp and peppery. Follows the scent. Grainy with a citrus kick. Honey (this becomes more pronounced as the brew warms.) Has a pretty decent malt backbone that adds a little more sweetener.

M For the style everything is pretty spot on. Smooth non-sticky malt. Crisp. Just a bit of burn as the ABV is higher than the usual weissebier.

O I really dig this beer. Easy drinker. The flavors meld really well. I think the rose hips do work here. Well put together brew. The best I've had from Lucette (the one that I buy consistently.)

Appearance: Hazy yellow-gold, ok head.

Smell: Bananas, yeasty, clove.

Taste: Moderately sweet, bananas, bready-yeasty, touch of lemon.

Overall: Not a Berliner Weiss at all, instead it is a very good Hefeweizen. I really enjoy hefes that can bring banana flavors out to the forefront and this one delivers just that. Good stuff.

Pours a hazy straw color. I swirled the last 1/8 of the can and definitely got a little yeasty goodness to cloud it up.

The aroma really took me here. Kind of like smelling freshly milled wheat as you're pouring it into your strike water. Just a fine wheat smell and I envy how prevalent it is. I'm not sure of previous reviews, but I'd like to believe I get a super fresh batch, here. A nice rose petal smell lingers in the background.

In the mouth it has persistent carbonation, but a definitely a bit less than you'd see in a traditional BHW. Creamy wheat and minerality on the front the of the mouth. In the finish a nice citrus hop kiss, with a firm malt presence. As it warms, I believe you can get a little residual floral character from the honey. The carbonation cleanses the palate, making this easy to slam.

In my opinion, this is a great beer. The fact that it's in 6-pack pint cans is the icing on the cake. Perfect combo= A can of Hips Don't Lie in one hand and a brat in the other. This will be on heavy rotation in my refrigerator for the next 4 months!

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a Surly tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy yellowish gold with a lot of rising bubbles. About one finger of white head which fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell: A sweet and fruity wheat driven aroma with some spice. Lots of wheat, pale malt, and yeast upfront with good hints of banana, clove, apple, bubblegum, and pear along with some grains, straw, and cracker. Also some citrus hints of orange and lemon zest. Hints of white pepper spicing and some sweet honey hints. Not really any hops coming through. A nice wheat ale aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma, a yeasty, sweet, and fruity wheat driven taste. Wheat and pale malt upfront with notes of yeast, grains, straw, and cracker along with a taste of banana, bubblegum, clove, apple, and pear. A little citrus taste of orange and lemon zest. Light white pepper presence. Sweet notes of honey. No hops are really detectable. A nice light and yeasty wheat ale taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very crisp, clean, and very smooth.

Overall: A decent take on a wheat beer. Light, zesty, and refreshing. A good summer brew.

Not sure why this is entered as a berliner weiss. It's a hefe. A bigger, sweeter hefe....fuller bodied for the style...nice banana and clove impression leaning more toward the banana....the honey seems to add a sweetness to the banana impression...in the end it just doesn't blow me away as it should with these components....not sure why....it's definitely good but not in my elite hefe territory...

Served from the tap.

The beer was hazy and amber in colour.

The nose was light and sweet, like light honey. It smelled like a typical Hefeweizen, but with honey.

The beer tasted light and sweet, slightly like honey and like Belgian-yeast. It had a very clean taste.

Would I buy it again? Yes.
