Got on trade! 12oz can served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a tiny 1/2" high white head that films out within a minute or two. Medium to dark gold colour and unfiltered

S- Oodles of hops here. Tons of citrus. Blast of hops. Must be few varieties in here. Doesn't have that big sugar bite either. Nice! Every bit of the 80IBU's are there.

M- Dry and tart

O- Nice brew. So refreshing. Bit rich so it's not a sunny day sipper but it is a nice change up brew.

Food Pairing

This wonderful little brew went well with....... Chili!

Enjoy

Look: Burnt orange and opaque with a frothy off-white head that quickly erupts to the rim and refuses to settle, slowly relenting and leaving sheets of lacing behind as it does
Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Tangerines, pink and white grapefruit flesh and rind, pine needles and sap, limes, oranges, some dank, light floral notes, and bready malt
Taste: Opens up with a citrus hit that is orange and tangerine focused and hits hard as limes trickle in behind. Grapefruit comes in next along with pine and these all interplay nicely while dank and floral notes float around throughout. Malt is present but clearly in the background as hops are the main event here and closes with a strong bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and dry on the finish
Overall: I am and have always been a fan of this one. A really tasty WCIPA that has a great mix of flavor/aroma along with a big hop bite, solid malt backbone, and dry finish, all which give it an old-school feel. I hadn’t had it in a year so it was fun to revisit and review this delicious and well-made IPA. Check it out, I highly recommended it

Look - deep gold, fluffy white head, scattered lacing
Smell - tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, dank
Taste - tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, pine, fruity sweetness
Feel - medium body, moderate carbonation, hoppy bitterness lingers
Overall - West coast IPA that delivers a piney, hoppy resin flavor that lingers. Well balanced with citrusy flavors, tangerine, grapefruit and lemon. Excellent brewski! Drawing inspiration from their Spotify playlist, I paired Melvin IPA with Parliament - Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker). That's old school funk for ya.

I had this 9/12/23 @ the Hopleaf.

Opaque orange appearance.

Nice eggshell-colored head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.

Orange soda & table sugar notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Orange soda syrup with some mild hop bite.

I was excited to have a 'classic' American IPA, but this was an abomination to me. Gross.

Can't go wrong here; quality, but nothing mind blowing.

Pours a pale amber color small bar pour off white head. Aroma is classic West coast style IPA on caramel malt base. Pine, grapefruit rind bitterness classic C hop monster. Taste is hints of malt soon the hop resins drool into your tastes buds and leave it coated in hop resin that lingers until the next sip. Very enjoyable and tasty to this old hop head. Mouthfeel is medium so is the carbonation or slightly more so. Overall very nice wish I could get this local.

12 ounce can from Bottle Joy in Couer d'Alene, ID.
Slightly cloudy bright orange golden pour with a solid two fingers of creamy, foamy white head.
Nose of pine, resin; notes of grapefruit pith, lemon and aroma of grainy malt with hints of caramel and honeysuckle.
Sweet cereal malt with hints of caramel on the palate followed quickly by a hop explosion of pine, grapefruit pith; floral and resinous with a touch of dankness and a bright bitterness.
Solid medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a lingering resinous sticky bitterness.
This falls into that short list of desert island beers.

Pours a hazy gold color with a thin head. Sme!!s of sweet bread and soft citrus notes, oranges and lemon blossom. Taste is well balanced with sweet malt up front and a mild bitter finish. Very drinkable and not overly hopped IPA.
