This place was a real find and a pleasant stop while checking out Maine. It is located about two blocks from another brewpub (Gritty McDuff's) and about a quarter mile from The Shipyard brewery. It's an upscale rest. with a nice bar attached. Table seating dominates the place, but the bar is where I was.

The service was outstanding. The people went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The beer was also good. They had about eight house drafts to sample, which were all above average quality (the stout was the best).

The atmosphere screamed of class, which was welcome after touring a bunch of college party pubs the day before. They offered a wide variety of native dishes and some for the common person as well. They had lots of lobster dishes to offer so of course being from NY I had to indulge. The food was awesome.

I rather enjoyed this place and would return anytime while staying in the Portland area.

Very relaxed vibe, atmospheric lighting, excellent selection of sebago beers as well as some guests. I've yet to try the food but the beer I tried was delicious. And the $3/22 ounce draft special on Wednesday night was a great deal.

Went to Portland, Maine for the first time ever and we decided to eat at Sebago Brewery on Fore Street. The restaurant was split between the bar area and a nice and quiet restaurant section. The quiet atmosphere was definitely appealing since we had our infant with us. Service was attentive, even though we felt far away. I liked the overall pub menu and decided to have the seafood bake, which was decently hearty with good sides of potatoes and peas. The beer was pretty good. I had their Simmer Down Summer Ale and then their Fyre's Leap IPA. The Simmer Down was definitely my favorite of the two. The prices were fair for a restaurant in a downtown location and my wife and I, overall, had a good supper here.

not too far off the waterfront, this is a good stop in for lunch in Portland. sort of open feel to it, almost like a chain family restaurant, dennys, but nicer. everything looks new, not sure how long they've beer around. sprawling bar with maybe 20 seats, and at least seven beers on tap. all were decent, the casked bonfire with Chinook hops was world class. bartender was very friendly, helpful, and generous with the samples. we didn't eat here, but the food being run out looked outstanding! vibe was good, a little noisy inside, but that's always a good thing for business. the beers were not all particularly interesting, but they were all well made. i guess they do some limited bottling too, but i liked the cask offering the best. apparently this rotates fairly regularly, and they are always doing new stuff with it. a good place to visit on the maine brewery circuit, bonfire rye is highly recommended as far as the beer goes.

Modern location away from the smell of seafish, and close to the public parking garage. A little noisy and buzy at suppertime, it wasn't too bad. A large bar, a comfortable spot (fortunately) and a moderate sized patio if you want it. Their product line is average, but there is usually something interesting on, this night a cask dry hopped citra IPA. People were happy with the food, and beer was ordered by all but a secondary consideration. Some bombers available if you wanted it, I should have checked for a barleywine - never know.

Atmosphere is ok with a clean new interior and ample seating, though seems a bit corporate (like a Cheesecake Factory feels). This is probably what they're going for, however, in their new location underneath the Hampton Inn. It makes a nice place for a large group to meet.

Quality of beers and food is decent. I'm personally not super impressed with their beer, but there are lots of options and it's locally brewed. The Beer is very well priced ($4 for a pint). I feel like appetizers are pretty spendy so be careful there. All food was pretty tasty.

The servers do know about the beer their serving and what's available (which somehow isn't the case everywhere--even in brewpubs). Service time was relatively quick, no major complaints by any means, but nothing special.

It's definitely a place worth going to, and I'd certainly eat/drink there if staying at the Hampton Inn. However, being right in Old Port there are tons of options that locals would consider 'more authentic.'
