I've been to around 200 brewpubs in North America on business and personal travel. As part of a Portsmouth>Portland brewpub tour in September of '07, my beer buddy and I visited Shipyard Kennebunkport, Gritty's Freeport, and Sebago. If it wasn't for Sebago, the trip to Portland would have been a bust. Shipyard beers were ok and Gritty's beers were awful.

Sebago is in the heart of Portland's downtown shopping and tourist area. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and left around 7. We had the delicious IPA, seasonal porter, stout, and single batch IPA. These were far and away the best brewpub beers we had in
Maine. I'm not sure how Sebago has such a low rating compared to Gritty's - It's not even close in my book. The serice was very good. In fact, the manager on duty spent 20 minutes at our table chatting about good beer in New England. It's a very well managed operation and by the time we left it was really hopping. (935 characters)

Excellent vibe, felt comfortable bringing the whole family. Nice selection of beers, could have been bigger. The service was very good and friendly. The food was fair priced and very good. I recomend this and will definetly be back. (233 characters)

My wife and I stopped in here for a drink during our 5-year Anniversary trip to Portland. The beers that we tried weren't particularly good. My wife's beer was downright awful. The smell and taste made me nearly gag. The bar looked nice. The setup was kind of basic and simple and it seemed to be more about the food, restaurant than the beer. we drank about 3/4 of our pints and then left. One and done. (404 characters)

Very relaxed vibe, atmospheric lighting, excellent selection of sebago beers as well as some guests. I've yet to try the food but the beer I tried was delicious. And the $3/22 ounce draft special on Wednesday night was a great deal. (232 characters)

Went to Portland, Maine for the first time ever and we decided to eat at Sebago Brewery on Fore Street. The restaurant was split between the bar area and a nice and quiet restaurant section. The quiet atmosphere was definitely appealing since we had our infant with us. Service was attentive, even though we felt far away. I liked the overall pub menu and decided to have the seafood bake, which was decently hearty with good sides of potatoes and peas. The beer was pretty good. I had their Simmer Down Summer Ale and then their Fyre's Leap IPA. The Simmer Down was definitely my favorite of the two. The prices were fair for a restaurant in a downtown location and my wife and I, overall, had a good supper here. (714 characters)
