Poured into a tumbler glass. Pours a cloudy pale straw with a huge, rocky stark white head. Head is very slow to drop, leaving very chunky lacing.

Aromas of spicy, peppery yeast, grainy malt, lemons and lemon zest.

Flavors of grainy malt, lemon zest, lemons, peppery yeast. A slight sourness. Short finish with a light bitterness and peppery yeast lingering.

Mouthfeel is light, dry, medium bitterness. Nice level of carbonation.

Overall, a very good saison. Worth seeking out. A great example of an american saison.

Large bottle purchased at the source last week, lovingly transported and allowed to settle and rest in the fridge for several days.

Pours clouded dull orange, under a frothy eggshell marainge head that lasts and lasts. Then leaves gobs of thicker lace all over the glass. Quality look to this one.

Orange, pepper, melon and yeasty goodness on the nose.

More of the same on the palate, with the melon and pepper coming through. Dry finish, with oranges coming to mind.

Seriously delicious, highly complex, I enjoyed and savored every drop.

Please consider distribution to NYC area!

Glad to have been able to visit the brewery/tasting room and glad I was smart enough to bring a few bottles home....

Appearance is hazy gold with a medium bubbled, sloppy white head leaving some foamy.

Smell is on the lighter side, a bit of lime zest.

Taste is very elegant and classic. Nice subtle esters, some tropicals, spice, with a firm herbal bitter snap. Very nice subtle bubblegum note as well. Very delicious.

Mouthfeel is light, bone dry, crisp but not sharp.

Drinkability is high, an outstanding saison, one of the best domestic offerings I've had.

Picked up a 750 ml bottle at the end of March from Total Wine for $11.99. No freshness date but it was received at TW on 8-19-2013.

Beer poured orange with a huge billowy white head that is long lasting and leaving lacing behind.

Nose is yeasty with hints of light fruits.

Taste is apple, pear, lemon, and pepper.

Mouthfeel is dry, smooth, yet carbonated enough to be quite refreshing.

Overall this brew rocks! This is the second brew i have had from Funkwerks and both have been totally impressive. It is a bit pricey but as they say you get what you paid for...well mostly in the beer world!
