750ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a bi fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is lemoney citrus fruit, chamomile, flowers, and some spices (corriander). Very nice and refreshing.

The flavor is saison earthy funk with a little sweet fruit and a little spice. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, a very nice and refreshing saison. Probably the favorite I've had from a very interesting up and coming brewery.

750 ml capped bottle with white label. There is a lot of useful information on the label like ingredients used to make it, the open fermentation process, a website, serving suggestion, and cellar limit (9 mos.) but NO DATE!

Moving on, I pour it into a goblet (because I don't have a goblet) and notice it's slightly hazy golden yellow color. It has thick white head and settles slowly but no lacing.

The aroma is right on for a wit with all sorts of great citrus zest (oranage and grapefruit are actually listed) as well as the coriander and ginger. Lots of depth here and a lot to enjoy.

Flavor is sweet up front with a yellow cake-like character. It then leads into a lemon-tart middle with a bit of that Belgian yeast coming forward. It finishes crisp and dry with a nice aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is light in body and perfectly carbonated. A great beer with which to welcome Spring.

Great flavor, depth, and balance... just like their saison. Worth seeking out.

The beer was lively in carbonation, slightly cloudy but still warm in color while altogether enticing. Had in a line up with four other Funkwerks beers, this was the most distinct in the lineup without trying to steal the show.

The presence of spices and citrus were gracefully layered without ever overwhelming the distinct saison yeast character. Aromas of dried orange peels, steeped green tea leaves and tart citrus fruits were in abundance and made for a very fresh and clean smelling experience.

Similar citrus play on the palate without being too sweet or 'wheaties' based. I liked the slightly lighter mouthfeel it gave, if it was more forced with candied flavors or sat with a richer body I believe the level of drinkability would not have been as nice as it was. Such a bright and aromatically enticing beer. I'm wishing for bottles to come soon, making this the perfect summer slamming hammock beer.

Any saison fan would find comfort in this beer. VERY excited with Funkwerks and their direction, can't wait too see what comes out of the few barrels that are silently working their magic.

Thanks Herf for the bottle! I've thoroughly enjoys all Funkwerks prior to this, so I'm looking forward.

Pours a light, cloudy, soft orange color. There is a LOT of carbonation in this. Bright white foam is crowning out of the glass. Aroma is light with coriander, spices, a slight bit of grapefruit and other citrus fruits and a slight hay note. The taste kicks it up a good notch. Bright citrus notes, biscuity malts with some wheaty bits, spices, and a slight hay taste. Much better than the aroma. The feel is good, crisp and with plenty carbonation. It never feels prickly, sharp or abrasive though. All in all, a very nice white.

Great beer. Amazing flavors and incredibly drinkable. Love this beer. Slightly tart, dry finish. Sweet fruit flavors. Strong grapefruit. Very bright pour, nice clarity. Strong carbonation with a great mouthfeel. I could drink this beer all day long..

Served in tap at funkwerks tap room, in stemware :

A - presents a light, transparent yellow color with a thin white head of poor retention.

S - peppery spice, yeast, honey, and a bit of light malt. Inviting.

T - gingery spice and pepper, unidentified citrus and honey all mashed together, but I dig it. Quite complex for how light it is.

M - light, fairly crisp and dry. Almost right.

D - one of funkwerks better offerings. Really a solid beer overall.

Pours a hazy yellow with a huge sugar white head that fades very slowly and leaves big rings of lace.

The aroma is spicy with orange peel, coriander and tangerine notes. Black pepper and sweet grainy wheat in the back.

The taste is grainy, sweet wheat in the front, with some funky notes, barnyard, and earthy elements, spicy notes of black pepper, coriander and orange peel. Tangerine notes, chardoney, and some lime-like tarness.

Complex, interesting, light and crisp.

Overall a very interesting and complex, funky beer. Subtle and balanced.
