A - Golden straw/hay color, slightly hazy. Soapy, white head quickly calms down to a small rocky cap. Some spotty lacing.

S - Light and citrusy, with definite lemon zest coming through. A little bit of green apple and "spicy" yeast character.

T/M - Follows the nose really well. Citrus zest mixes with green apple and pear notes. Mild bite of spice in the finish. Alcohol is hidden extremely well. Light body with just the right amount of prickly carbonation.

O - I like this one a lot! I will definitely being grabbing a couple more.

Champagne like saison, light mouth feel, slight opacity, great finish. My favorite beer in Fort Collins...The head is large cell bubbles that reduces very quickly. I bought two bottles for later enjoyment. $17.95 at $17.95 a bottle. My wife loved this beer as much as i did.

Appearance: golden with a beautiful, thick white head. Decent lacing.

Aroma: citrus, grapefruit.

Taste: delicious! Grapefruit bitterness and fruitiness from the hops, spiciness and funk from the yeast, and good light malt character.

Mouthfeel: good carbonation; effervescent, and tingly in the mouth. Medium bodied.

Overall: definitely worth the award they mention so proudly on the label. One of the best Belgian-style golden ales I've had!

The beer has a a white and creamy head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a golden amber that is clear and filtered. The beer smell is an interesting combination of smells. The dominant smell is apricot with a bit of Belgian funk. Other smells include some Belgian spices, sugar and a slightly yeasty smell as well. The more subtle smells consist of hints of peach and honey as well as a bit of alcohol. However, the other smells a bit subtle. The beer's taste is similar to its smell. The dominant flavor is apricot and the Belgian spices including clove. Unlike the smell, that taste has a lesser yeast presence that is dominated by other flavors. The beer has a wheat flavor that is very present and noticeable. Additionally, the beer has slight honey notes and a bit of alcohol taste. The beer has a slight alcohol warmth. Other than the alcohol taste, the beer has a clean and slightly crisp feel. Additionally, the beer feels smooth with a slight slickness at the end of the drink. Heavy bodied. Overall, a pretty good and unique Tripel.

Poured a clear golden yellow with a thin bit of white head that left abundant lacing. Not as cloudy as some Belgians, but not out of style. Pretty good. Scents of apricot, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, tangerine and slight overripe fruit, sourness, and graininess with hints of alcohol, barnyard funk and bubblegum as it warms. A pretty well done, balanced yet complex Belgian nose, pretty true to form for a Tripel. Taste begins with Belgian yeast, bitter citrus rind, balanced with candi sugar sweetness, apricot and apricot pit. There is also a slight sour hint, a bit of funk and some grain on the finish. The finish overall is bitter and rather dry. A bit of spiciness as well. Again, rather true to Tripel style, but maybe a bit more bitter than some other examples of the style, not bad though. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall this is a pretty good Belgian ale. It has the usual complex aromas and flavors of a Tripel, but adds just a bit more bitterness than usual to balance it out. It's quite refreshing and hides it's alcohol well. I have to say I am impressed.

Thanks to drumrboy22 for the bottle. Tasted 23 July 2013, reviewed from notes.

Pours cloudy pale straw yellow with a touch of gold. Three big fingers of fluffy white head, dense and pillowy, relaxing slowly and leaving gobs of lacing all over the glass, plus a resilient half-finger cap. Wow. Only thing keeping it from a 5 is a few little floaties.

Smell is big, pleasant, and difficult to define. Nice Belgian yeast, a good chunk of nose-tingling citrus, a little funk. A gentle, warm, grainy golden sweetness.

Taste is warm and enjoyable but rather simple; a bit spicy, a bit bitter, and a larger bit tart. There's all kinds of stuff going on in it, making for an enjoyable meal, but there's no punch line, no obvious main course. Good, though.

Feel is good, medium-bodied, with fluffy marshmallowy overwhelmingly-fuzzy carbonation. Awesome, actually. Feels like it's turning to foam in my mouth.

I like this beer. For a big Belgian ale, it's refreshing, relatively light but flavorful, and I feel like I could drink a lot of it. Very nice indeed.
