Hope this is not an old bottle. Ordered from MadeInOregon.com. Anyhow. The colour is an attractive golden orange. But the mouthfill is a bit syrupy, not the crips dry feel I am hoping.
The taste is not any better. Like a lot of PNW IPA that I've tried, it has that soapy & perfumey taste that is off-putting for me. There is an absence of bitterness that made me enjoy a good IPA. The whole bottle took awhile for me to finish. Or maybe I just do not enjoy PNW IPA at all.

Had this on tap, and filled a mason jar to bring home. One of my more favored tries from this new brewery in pdx.

- Golden, semi-cloudt west coast IPA.. slight orange glow.. creamy white head, slight layer sticks around, lacing all about.

- Big bitter hops. Bright aromas, some slight pine, citrus.. bit floral and bready. Grain is present, and not so overly sweet.

- Smooth, and a nice bright bitter... the bitter rides on the top, while still giving way to a subtle grainy and bready malt profile which I think is a must in a west coast IPA. Very solid.

- Light to med. bodied, and slightly chewy. Smooth and creamy overall.

- Big toss up between this, and another more robust malted IIPA the ground and pound... but I favored this one because of it's more bready biscuit characteristics. Solid, but could still use some tweaking... at least with the hop schedule.

First had: on tap at their brewpub

Hop Heaven poured a very cloudy golden orange, with a small layer of white head. Aroma is hop-forward with splashes of fresh fruit and some light sugars. Lots of hop variety in the taste, citrus, pine, floral notes, lasting bitterness, with a good but subdued sweet malt sensation throughout. Medium-bodied, and quite drinkable.

Easily the best beer I tasted during my recent visit to the brewpub.

HH pours a peach orange color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose I get considerable orange citrus and honey, along with some light tropical fruit and pine. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely this deliciously bitter, west coast all the way IPA. Otherwise, I thought this IPA quite well balanced, with the lovely sweet malt balancing the bitterness quite well, but without imparting any overt sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a long, honey and bitter finish. Alcohol is not noticeable at all in this IPA, and drinkability is exceptional (this is a very easy to drink IPA).

Impressive beer. This is an IPA I would go back to the brewpub for.

Had on-tap at CRBC in Portland, OR. Poured a hazy dark straw yellow color with a nice white head that receded fairly fast, leaving lacing only towards the top of the glass. Had an aroma of floral, citusy and earthy hops. Very much of a dry hop bite in the taste of this beer...almost tasted like a DIPA to me.

Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Dry finish. Definitely save this one towards the end of a session as it does quite a number on the palate!
