Stopped in here for lunch recently.

Atmosphere is nice. It's right on the square in downtown Decatur so you'll have to use a garage or pay lot if you're expecting to park close by. Once inside a long bar sits on the right side of the place with tables on the left. Upstairs there are additional tables and while I saw a second staircase leading to the third floor I'd have to guess that's office area and not additional seating. Three TV's sit behind the bar. Exposed brick that still shows old painted advertisements shows up on the wall behind the bar. As far as ambiance there admittedly wasn't much as I showed up right as they opened and was the only patron until right before I left.

Quality is good. The beer I had was served in a pint glass that was at room temperature and the beer had a good amount of head. I believe I remember seeing tulips behind the bar that I assume are used for some of the bigger ABV offerings.

Service was good. As I mentioned I was the only customer for the majority of my time there and so I never had to wait. The bartender knew a bit about each of the beers on-tap which was nice and also could list all rotating taps.

Selection is nice. Mostly American micro's make up the selection, including Victory, Heavy Seas, Sierra Nevada, Sweetwater, Terrapin, etc. Genesee's Cream Ale was a black sheep that I hadn't seen on-tap elsewhere around town. The rotation looks pretty set with the exception of three taps reserved for seasonal selections.

Food was solid. I had the green chili burger that was decidedly above average, though the fries were lacking real character.

Value was good - all told my lunch was right around $15 with tax and tip for a burger, fries, and a beer.

Overall this is another nice addition to the Decatur beer scene. I personally likely won't stop in here terribly often as the selection doesn't change much and the Brick Store and Leon's are right across the square but it's a nice establishment that will hopefully do well.

The two-story interior is cozy, unpretentious and a bit worn, giving it the warm and inviting feel of a well-established neighborhood bar. Downstairs is a regular bar and a few tables, while upstairs a couch area and a more open place that has both tables and booths. Servers are alert and very helpful, clearly well-trained. Food is tasty, if not outstanding. Their selection of taps is all craft beers, and most of the bottles are crafts. The location is excellent, in the heart of Decatur next to the MARTA rail station and near a number of distinctive establishments. Definitely worthy of a visit.

I checked out the Square Pub a while back with another BA after an afternoon at the Brick Store

They made really good, and interesting, use of space. Downstairs is a lot like Raging Burrito's main room - narrow, with some tables on the left and a bar. Then there is a mid-tier balcony with some seats, and then another stair case will take you to a third level. I liked how the middle tier had couches to chill out. The place is fairly colorful, but overall, nothing too crazy in terms of atmosphere. Just a relaxing downtown spot.

The beer list wasn't crazy but it was all-around solid. Lots of love for the locals, as I opted for a Wild Heaven beer. Pretty heavy on IPAs and Pales, and as much as I love hops, I'd like to see more variety in the draft list, truth be told. They did have a couple rotating taps, which was nice. However, I'm sure this keeps 95% of patrons completely satisfied. Quality was good as is the norm in Decatur, with our love of craft beer, but the place is also new, so hopefully they can maintain quality and add a bit more variety.

The food was solid - they definitely hit the southwestern influence they were looking for with loads of spicy foods. (This may also explain the abundance of hoppy beers on tap, as the two admittedly go together well). Service was fairly good, though I do remember our server making a minor mix-up with my side order - I got some sweet potato tots instead of fries. Overall, no real complaints

All told, I really liked this addition to the Decatur pub scene, it's a place I can take friends or family for some food, and inconspicuously enjoy a good beer at the same time.
