Just found out this place was less than a mile from my house. Thanks beer menus. They had a great selection and lots of good locals that I couldn't find other places. This bodega is two isles long with one being dedicated to craft beer, and the other to food. The cooler doors run along side the far wall but there is lots of warm beer, a good mix of local stuff and some imports.

If you can find something ask, the owner is a great guy and know beer but he doesn't have room for all the good beer he gets so some stuff is behind the counter till he gets room.

If you live in the neighborhood, this is a "must stop" place or if you live on the westside and are looking for brews that sell out fast this is a good place to stop. Check beermenus as he updates it with each new shipment.

I'd like to keep this place all to myself but the owner is so cool that I really want to see his business take off.

P FL is my co-favorite store in the city, along with Beer Temple. The selection is great, but the Customer service you get at this place is out of this world. When you stop in, just ask to speak to junior, and he'll answer any questions you have and point you in the right direction. He truly cares about his customers, and it shows. He knows his stuff, and he doesn't jack the prices up for rare beers.

Truly one of the 2 best beer stores in Chicago.

Not sure how to review a beer store's atmosphere. It's like a convenience style grocery store, what do you expect? Zero atmosphere BUT Junior is a great dude. He's always genuinely happy to see everyone that comes in and his store has a much higher ratio of great beer than crap. His pricing is standard suggested retail but he'll randomly give you 10% off if you have a decent sized purchase (or you're just a little short like my broke ass sometimes).

Old-school bodega right here that has a massive craft selection. It doesn't have too much fat on it like other places, it is sleek and well picked. The main beer guy Junior is a knowledgeable and very accommodating beer guy. The food seems to be tax free, at least when I bought some there which is a plus I would say, fuck Crook county.

Puerto Rico Food & Liquors located in Chicagos historic Humboldt Park neighborhood is truly a hidden gem for those engulfed in the sweet luxuries of the craft beer world.
Junior will take you in like one of the family, show you around and always willing to take the time if not to busy and exchange thoughts about the current craft craze, expected release dates and upcoming events aswell as pour you a lil taste of something delicious as him or one of the patrons are always opening something good. So if your in Chicagos Humboldt Park neighborhood stop by, you wont regret it... Oh Yeah.. Cheers!

Junior and his staff are amazing. I do 99% of my beer shopping here and can always get hard-to-find beers. Junior is so kind and I find myself many times at his store for an hour just talking beer and everyday life. Also, you will NOT find better prices around than his! Proof is his $29.99 Fifty Fifty Eclipse compared to everywhere else it being $35-40

I will keep this short and sweet. I just have to say, This place is the definition of a diamond in the rough. Couldn't tell from the outside, but this place has a killer selection. The only thing that out weighs it's selection is the man himself, Junior. Seriously one of the nicest guys, and eager to help in anyway he can. Even if their selection sucked, I would prob still go back just to talk to him. I don't live close anymore, but still make a special trip on occasion.

Great owner, generous and very helpful. I was introduced here from my bro-in-law and couldn't have been more impressed with the knowledge of the owner and the selection at hand. If I lived closer to here, I'd be there daily!
It seems the only thing holding them back here is the size of the store front. I'm sure they would love to pack a few more rows of beer into the place but a large portion of the business is fully dedicated to the great craft beer selection. The owner sends out a weekly newsletter updating his new stock and promoting to his regulars the rare and hard to come by new releases as they arrive.

Puerto Rico is absolutely the best shop in the city. The owner, Junior, is a very nice and generous man who can guide you to the type of beer you are looking to find. Like others have said, he takes great passion in his selection. The store itself might not be as large as the bigger stores, but Puerto Rico gets pretty much anything they can get and then some. And they are able to sell their items at some of the lowest in the city, unlike other small specialty shops. Plus he always has some good fresh produce if you need that as well!

Found this gem of a place based on the other BA reviews and was not disappointed. It's in a nicer neighborhood easy to access by car. Inside about half the store is beer and half is everything else you'd find at a corner grocery. I was very impressed with the huge and varied section of fantastic craft beers. Plenty of imports, west coast beers and east coast beers. The owners really know their stuff and go out of their way to help out shoppers, they know what's on the shelves. The big cooler section was filled with plenty of variety, not overstocked with BMC like many other places. This little shop is a real find for beer lovers and a really clever upgrade to a corner store--clear half the shelf space to stock craft beer! Would love to have one of these back home in my neighborhood. Win!

Now this store has a great neighborhood feel to it and a GREAT beer selection. The other great thing is the owner takes great pride in his store. He doesn't just provide beer to sell but educates you about it. He tries everything he sells and if you don't know what to try, just ask him. He hasn't steered me wrong. If your about supporting small business or looking for good tasting beer Puerto Rico Food & Liquors is where you got to go. Stop in and ask for Junior, let him know what you like, he's confident he'll have something to send you home with. Great selection and competitive prices.

This place is, quite simply, the best. As soon as we walked in, Junior, the owner, asked if he could help us find anything. We ended up talking beer and the local scene for nearly an hour, and all the while Junior was helping us find anything we needed. He asked us if we had ever tried a particular beer-when we replied that we had not, Junior whipped out some cups and gave us samples right there. That's service if I've ever seen it.

This place might not have as many beers as Binny's or some other Chicagoland stores, but the selection is damn impressive, and perhaps the most appealing (to me) that I've ever seen. BCBS, Madame Rose, BA Naked Evil, and numerous others on the shelf. I honestly don't know if there is any way to improve the selection here. If I lived in Chicago, I would go here ALL THE TIME.

Puerto Rico Liquors offers an amazing selection with the personal touch lacking in more corporate chain type stores. You would never know it from the street, but this is the best beer store I've visited in Chicago, and that includes all the big boys. Thanks Junior-you're the man!!!

I traveled to Chicago from Boston for work and had mapped out places to hit on my free time. It happened to be right around when BCBS was making its way into the market. I hit a few of the bigger name places like West Lakeview, where no one working spoke to me and a few Binny's who both said that they had BCBS but had not decided when to put it out. Really? So I took a shot and went over to PRFL.

I was greeted by the owner right away who hooked me up with the BCBS and offered to take me through the shelves and show me some of his favorite locals and regional beers. When I mentioned I was from Boston, I was treated like a long lost son and he actually gave me a couple of locals to try later on back at the hotel.

These guys love their beer, love people who love beer and their town, and care deeply about making sure you leave happy with your visit.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven't before.

PRFL is where you go to get quality craft beer without having to make the drive to Binnys. He has awesome selection including lots of barrel aged treats. Prices are reasonable, selection is great even for new releases and on Saturday and Sunday they have home made tamalaes and salsa!

They even have an email list to update you weekly on new arrivals and he takes request. It's like the dj at a wedding that brings the goods and then some.

Lots of local pipe works and FFF

Ask for Junior, he'll take care of you!!!

This place is absolutely incredible, a true hidden gem. I was led to this place when I was hunting for some Parabola. A twitter friend of mine said to go here and ask if they had any, as he bought some the prior morning. Unfortunately they were out, but holy hell, what a beer selection!

Normally one wouldn't expect to find such a large selection of great beer in the Ukie Village, especially in a Puerto Rican corner store. Don't judge by the exterior of this place, the neighborhood, anything...just go.

Oh, they do have an email list you can join that will grace your inbox with such gems as, "IM PREETY SURE YOU ARE WONDERING, WHERE CAN I GO TO GET SOME GOOD BEERS FOR THIS WEEKEND! YOU KNOW WAZ UP! PRFL!!!!"

Fucking A+, so awesome.
