Bomber into a matching Westbrook snifter. The brew appears black in color with a dark brown head about 2 fingers strong. It is slow to fade leaving spotty lace sticking to the glass.
The aroma is roasty with enough orange zest to brighten things up a bit and overtake the fruity void where alcohol/hops might typically be present. There is plenty of cocoa character to be found. Overall its not bad.
The taste is bitter roast, cocoa and coffee. A slight zest of oranges and a hint of dusty roasted grain into the aftertaste. The orange in integrated well, im just no sold on the flavors cohesively working together.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is a nice offering but nothing special. Ive had a few of these stouts/porters that feature orange zest or juice and I just dont get it, its a strange combo to me but still worth trying.

CBX growler poured into a globe.
A- Pour is bitch black, thick and creamy. Minimal head that dissipates to a black top the swills with mocha colored bubbles from the carbonation.
S- Chocolate, Oranges, lactose, roasted coffee, and fudge.
T- Chocolate orange, cream, bakers coco, roasted malt, bitter orange rind and slight notes of bitter coffee at the end.
M- Good for the style. Rich, thick, creamy with good carbonation. Leaves a bitter chocolate flavor in your mouth that hangs out for some time.
O- A very good IMP stout that reveals more and more orange as it warms. I really love what they do at Westbrook.
