750ml capped bottle into Tired Hands stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a rich 1 finger light cream colored head with moderate retention. Beer is a clear dark mahogany. Lacing is stringy and patchy with great stick. Very nice.

Nose is tart strawberry and raspberry puree with a bit of woodiness in the back. Dense but surprisingly mellow.

Opens tart cherry and other red fruit. Slight touch of vinegar mixed with oak in the middle. Vinous. Great balance between sweet and sour. Tartness builds towards the end but integrates well with a big fruit and barrel presence at the finish. Accented aftertaste. Not too vinegary or acidic. Real smooth.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Slightly prickly but smooth in the mouth and goes down filmy and easy. Finishes messy with a lingering, sticky aftertaste. Very drinkable.

This beer delivers all the flavor of the style without the harsh acidity. Really nice and one of my favorites in the category.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Reddish deep amber. Nice off white head. Medium collar and some surface wisps.

Smell - Red wine is strong. Acetic and musty. Some caramel way in the back, but it doesn't smell sweet at all.

Taste - It isn't all that sour, but I like it. More caramel and a bucket of red wine. Oak. Fruity sourness.

Mouthfeel - Low sourness. Medium body. Not sweet, but it isn't completely dried out.

Overall - The red wine elevates this a lot. People in my tasting group didn't think it was sour enough, but I thought it was good.

Served from bottle into Westbrook snifter (proper!). Poured a deep ruby reddish brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, sour, tart, wood, cherry, vinegar, funk, and acetic acid. The flavor was of sweet malt, cream, wood, vinegar, sour, tart, fruit, cherry, and oakiness. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. The notes on the nose were quite complex for the style without being overly invasive as some others from this style can tend to be. The flavor was actually quite good with all of the enjoyable notes from the nose only turned up a bit. You definitely know what style this one falls in to upon the first sip. If you don't like sours, avoid this one like your life depends on it. But if you enjoy them, specifically Flanders Reds, get off your ass and find a way to track this one down!

Look is brownish Amber with red highlights with little to no head.

Aroma is funky red wine.

Taste is much more candy sweetness than sourness like a light red wine.

Not sure if it's a traditional Flanders but it's a great beer.
