Style | ABV
American IPA |  6.80% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
A base of pale, Munich, and Carapils malts is just enough to contain the massive hop flavor and aroma packed into this highly drinkable IPA. A blend of four American hop varieties is added four times in the kettle and twice in the fermentor for a complex and layered hop experience. Best served at 45-50˚F in a tulip or English style pint glass.

A: Cloudy-hazy, light orange-yellow in color. Forms a fairly large, fluffy, off-white head. Decent retention. Moderate lacing.

S: Pleasantly aromatic. Mostly citrus. Grapefruit and orange. Not incredibly juicy, but certainly citrus forward. Lighter notes of pine. Some light malts.

T: Taste is all hops and that isn't a bad thing. Again mostly citrus, orange, grapefruit, tangerine. But the pine comes through more in the taste than it does in the aroma. A bit of resin and spice on back end.

M: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Moderate-to-heavy carbonation. Somewhat prickly in the mouth.

O: A very nice, hop forward IPA available at a very reasonable price.

Poured into a Great Divide snifter at around 45 degrees...allowed to warm throughout.

A - Pours a light gold; shades of amber give it depth and complexity. It looks like a nice glass of caramel. Head is minimal but lacing throughout.

S - The real highlight of this beer is the aroma. Nice and subtle grapefruit aromas give way to a sweetness from the malt. Hints of spice in the background...peppery even. As the beer warms, the sweetness from the malt starts to take over.

T - A nice balance here between the malt profile and the hop bitterness...nothing too overwhelming. That being said, also nothing exceptionally rememberable. Grapefruit and caramel malt dominate the taste profile with hints of spice...same as the nose.

M - Feels a little light in my opinion. Not sure why. The carbonation seems about right for the style but the beer seems to go straight down the hatch with little for my taste buds to remember it by. Nothing sticks here.

O - Overall, the beer is good...not great...not bad...just good. I would buy it and drink it again; however, I would know when doing so, that I was buying a solid version of the style but nothing above and beyond.

12 oz can, dated 2/27/14. Pours hazy golden orange with a huge frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet fruity candy with some resiny hops and a little garlic.

The flavor is sweet fruity candy with resiny garlic hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, kind of an odd mix of fruity candy and garlic hops.

12 ounce can, w/o freshmess info that I can find.

Pours hazed dull lighter tangarine, gauzy eggshell head, leaves a decent collar, fine film and nice fine scattered sheets and strands of lacing.

Oranges and resiny hops in the nose.

Hopped up but not overly bitter, loads of mixed citric fruits, and a moderate resiny hop finish. Better then average, fruity, quite pleasant and assertive IPA in a can, what could be bad?

Well worth a try.

Hazy golden hued beer with a quarter inch white head. Brussels lacing. I get a faint aroma of citrus hops, but I really have to seek it out. I get a pretty acute burst of citrus hops which quickly fades into a nice, mellow hop burn. There's a good light malt backbone to keep the hop intensity in check. The mouth is crisp and dry.
