Notes/Commercial Description:
A base of pale, Munich, and Carapils malts is just enough to contain the massive hop flavor and aroma packed into this highly drinkable IPA. A blend of four American hop varieties is added four times in the kettle and twice in the fermentor for a complex and layered hop experience. Best served at 45-50˚F in a tulip or English style pint glass.

Thanks to pjkelley82 for this extra that arrived in a recent box. Going gentle tonight after a looong Darkness Day eve last night. 12 oz. hop-green can, dated 9/11/14, consumed while watching the 2014 World Series.

The pour is SF Giant orange, no clarity here. Smells like sweet candied oranges. That’s it.

Westbrook IPA seems like more of a spare pale ale. Like the nose, the beer is dominated by oranges, married to a raw sugar sweetness. Mid-palate brings two or three pine needles, fleeting bitterness. Ends sweet. Moderately drinkable, as in, I’m probably going to finish it.

I’m not into balanced, nor sweet, IPAs, so this one already has two strikes on it. Just not very interesting; mediocre.

Canned on 9/17/2014.

Served cold into a shaker pint glass, Westbrook's IPA is a hazy yellow-orange color with thin white head. The head settles quickly and leaves no lacing.

Aroma is fruity and fresh with citrus and tropical fruit.

Flavor is sweet up front and great hop character from middle to end.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Good balance for an IPA.

Overall a very good IPA and drinkable too.
