Notes/Commercial Description:
The Märzenbier is an Octoberfest-style amber lager brewed with Vienna, Munich, and Caramunich malts and lightly hopped with German Perle hops. The Bavarian lager yeast leaves a clean, malt focused beer perfect for drinking by the liter outside in the cool fall weather!

22 oz. Dark gold, oranged hued pour. Half finger of white head.

Aroma, Bready malt. Light caramel. Lighter yet herbal German style hops.

Taste, Much more toasted malt. Well done peanut brittle. Peat and leather are heavy. Almost a pumpernickel bready-ness. Some of the herbal hops linger along with the leather and bread.

Nearly medium body, good carbonation. Drinks easily for a stronger tasting marzen. Would recommend this for the style.

This years batch seems well done to me. Guessing this doesn't age well, which should be no surprise for the style.

22 ounce bottle - $6.48 at Sherlock's in Marietta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, amber-orange body with a finger and finger only of white foam.

Smell: Sweet accented bready, softly toasted malts with a slender waft of fruit and nuts. Very meager hop note, but I'm getting to this a bit later than I probably should. I was unfair and I apologize for my poor behavior.

Taste: Bready maltiness, lightly toasty, blended with a restrained toffee-like sweetness, a swell of fruitiness, toasted cashew, and subtle spiciness from the lightly bitter Perle hops. The sweet maltiness and almost berryish fruitiness persists after the bitter subsides on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Just on the underside of medium carbonation.

Overall: Not perfect, but smooth, drinkable, served alongside some grilled cheddarwurst from local Heywood's Provision.
