How this brew is not ranked as outstanding and quintessential of the style I will never understand. I could drink my body weight in this stuff.

Bomber served fresh and cold into a goblet.

Appearance is a hazy amber orange color with thin white head. It settles to a skim layer and leaves just a little lace.

Aroma is sweet and malty with orchard fruit and German lager yeast.

Flavor is balanced and drinkable with low bitterness. Multigrain bread, caramel, and a faint citrus note in the background.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Balanced and enjoyable as a perfect autumn beer.

Overall a very good marzen and a style that deserves to be enjoyed this time of year.

Very light. Noble hop character, big malty backbone. Pretty good. Would probably drink a lot of this outside in a beer garden.

Pours a hazy golden color with a creamy beige head that settles into a light cap. 3.5

The aroma is doughy, big Munich malt nose. There is a bit of peppery spice from the hops. Some honey and caramel notes. 3.75

The taste is doughy with a steely caramel wave. Strong metallic notes mix with a light berry note. Spicy and grassy hops provide a needed bitter offset. Taste reminds me of a hoppy bock mixed with a Vienna lager. Tastes like a German brew with ample hop usage. 3.75

Moderate feel with prickly carbonation. Sweet with an earthy bitterness. Nice balance. Slightly sticky in the finish. 3.75

A very earthy German style brew. It's good but probably needs to dial back on the hops just a bit. 3.75

i dont know what the low ratings are for here. this is one of the more flavorful and yet dry takes on the style i can recall, certainly of this season for me. its dark amber, malty for sure, german, classic marzen type base to it, and a balancing hop finish. the flavor is like the nose, definitely malt driven, but where a lot of these devolve into molasses sweetness and tangy tannins, this one doesnt, it stays rich without ever getting sweet, and the lager yeast dries it out flawlessly in the finish. if i was going to have one octoberfest lager for the season, it would be this one. infinitely drinkable and really round in feel. sturdy abv but not over the top, and there are some real solid hops in the finish that bitter it up just enough. very authentic take, as good as any imported version. nice carbonation, lighter medium body, no complaints from me. this is what i like in the style.

22 oz bottle, poured into pint glass

pours an amber color, minimal head. sweet malt aroma, a bit earthy. Taste is a clean, slightly sweet malt flavor, easy drinking. thin to medium body, higher carbonation.

Appearance: Pours amber with a one finger off white head and OK lacing.

Aroma: Moderate cereal/maliard/ caramel aroma. Neutral yeast/hops.

Flavor: Grainy malt bill up front. Tastes like caramel malt and shredded wheat cereal. Light grassy hop character emerges too for a nice layer of complexity.

Feel: Light bodied and refreshing while still malt forward.

Overall: One of my favorite American interpretations.
