Growler from Piney Grove Green's poured into my Bruery snifter.
Black body as expected from an Imperial Stout, a nice brown head on top that looks menacing for a minute before running away.
Big smokey aroma, a hint of sweetness and some roast.
Taste follows the aroma, a massive smoky taste up front mingles with a pretty roasty stout. Not really any chocolate notes in this one. The alcohol is hidden in this one. Not really bitter and fairly dry in the finish. medium to heavy body with a fair amount of carbonation.
Overall a solid beer, if you like smokey stouts this is right up your alley. I could see this beer really working great in a bourbon barrel.
