Notes/Commercial Description:
For this somewhat funky farmhouse rendition of our flagship IPA, we took the base recipe and fermented it with a blend of French saison yeast and two strains of brettanomyces, followed by a healthy dry hopping with Galaxy hops. Drink now for maximum fresh hoppy flavor or cellar to develop the brett character. Santé!

Thanks Dan!

Appearance: Amber pour, a bit cloudy, decent head and lacing
Smell: weird ipa/saison combo, slightly sweet
Taste: Slightly earthy, with some tangerine and citrus. Seems like a common saison strain I can't quite pinpoint
Overall: Interesting beer, would drink it locally but not seek it out

Decent bottle courtesy of Doug. Vey fresh bottle, the hops waft as we open. Good appearance: a generous head, lots of lace. A little funkiness in the taste and the aroma. Good drinkability, with noticeably dry finish. A sipper. I like the Brett, citrus hops. Nothing unexpected, just a good idea that worked.

Served from bottle into a Bell's stemmed tulip. Poured a deep yellow-orange with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, citrus hop, banana, spices, earth, and funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, fruit, spices, earth, earth hop, and earthy funk. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. I really like the combination of Brett and farmhouse going on here. The Brett mixed really well with the spices going on here. But like my good friend kkipple stated, this one could use a little tweaking to dial it in perfectly. Another solid brew from Westbrook which I am glad to see bottled.

Slightly hazy orange. One inch head. Great lacing.

Spicy hops, some Belgiany funk in the aroma.

Nice flavor. Very hoppy and yeasty. Two very distinct flavor components.

Medium bodied with a dry finish.

I got two bottles of this. One to drink now, and one to age for a while. It's good right now, but I'm curious to see how the brett character develops.

22oz bottle poured into a Pint Glass

A - Pours a hazy orange-gold with a creamy white head that settles to a sudsy hazy, leaving behind rings of sticky lacing.
S - Big tropical hop aromas of peach, mango, and tangerine with a fruity Belgian yeast profile and a healthy dose of earthy Brettanomyces. Wonderful nose, so fresh and crisp!
T - Lots of bitter, pithy hop flavors of grapefruit and peach, followed by more of the slightly funky, definitely earthy Brett. The Saison yeast strain is in there, too, and imparts a touch of banana and spicy clove. Citrus-heavy hops come roaring back in the finish, which is moderately dry and long-lasting. Tasty, but lacking some of that delectable tropical Galaxy hop profile from the nose.
M - Medium-bodied, with a slightly sticky, resinous mouthfeel from the hop oils, and good, sharp carbonation.
O - Another phenomenal beer from Westbrook, I'd love to take their advice and law a bottle of this down to see how the Brett develops, but I don't think I could bring myself to wait that long!

On tap at sesame burger charleston, sc.
Poured into standard pint. Pours a slight haze golden, little head. Smell is very nice. Very belgian yeasts complimented by fruity hops and some bready malts. Its deff a hoppy farmhouse.
Taste is of bready malts, fruity hops, and slightly floral. Really easy on the palate.
Overall, a fantastic saison/farmhouse. Full of barnyard flavor; belgian yeasty and malty, but the fruity hops really come alive and balance the whole thing.

22oz. bottle poured into an imperial pint. Many thanks to my friend Bob for sending this my way!

(A)- Pours a cloudy orange color. Produced a large and fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

(S)- A nice dry profile. Bits of lemongrass, clay, mild earth, and a pleasant orange peel citrus at the end.

(T)- A bit heavier in the yeast department, but has the same dry/grassy lemon and earthy clay profile. Plenty of pine at the end reminding you of the IPA namesake.

(M)- A nice carbonation level. Has a good balance too, though is quite heavy in the yeast and bitter pine areas, but otherwise quite nice.

(D)- Overall, the saison/IPA combo is a success in this one. Has the earthy dryness of the saison and the bitter pine and citrus of an IPA.

Bottle to Bruery Tulip
22oz

Thanks to Blackbelt5112203 for this one

App- Deep deep orange with a solid center. Has a mix of yellows and golds mixed in. A small 1/2 finger head with decent cling and lace.

Smell- A big dose of earthy, grassy notes on this one. On another smell comes the yeast and a bit of citrus.

Taste- A nice mix of styles. The yeast balances this out but not like Stones Cali. This was more thick and earthy vs a big citrus punch. A nice beer but nothing that was earthy shattering.

Mouth- A good light medium with a medium carbonation level. The yeast comes out nicely and creates a earthy, mini spicy pocket of flavor.

Drink- Tasty, but was hoping for something closer to Stone Cali-Belg. Nice layers but just didnt pop like I was hoping.
