A: Pours a pale gold, almost straw, color with a pleasant bone white head. The retention is miniscule and barely grips glass.
S: Even though it appears more like a wheat ale than a DIPA, the aroma unveils this brews true character. An astounding amount of citrusy essence engulfs the nose. The complexity of all of the different hops and citrus additives result in a notably unique scent.
T: You have to appreciate when a brewery names a beer perfectly. The grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime combination work nicely together, but it may have benefited from stopping at the first three, respectively. The hops give their own exceptional flavor followed by a surprisingly subtle bitterness that does not over whelm the palate. Actually it comes across quite sweet, similar to orange juice mixed with grapefruit juice.
M: It may be do to the growler, but the carbonation is slightly lax. Still, there is no stickiness or chewiness that many DIPAs tend to exhibit. A faint resiny feel on the tongue which works nicely to allow the flavors to linger for a brief while.
O: Never judge a book by its cover seems a little cliche, but this brew proves that books and beer apparently have a lot in common. Highly unique and definitely something to try and appreciate.
