For our Second Anniversary beer, we tapped into the legendary fictional adventures of the mythical Cap'n Skoon to bring you this monster Baltic Stout. It's big and roasty like an imperial stout but fermented with a German lager yeast. Ideal for sipping now, or be like the Cap'n and stash some away in your cargo hold for the years to come. Cheers!

650 ml bottle, kindly shared by gunnar and our beerpal Ole Anders. ABV is 10%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Excellent aroma, notes of roasted malts, tobacco and leather. Very roasty flavour, fairly sweet, but still remarkably balanced by decent hops.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass and a snifter. There wasn’t any difference between the two glasses. The appearance was a fairly decent dark brown to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute gracing the glass with some fairly nice clinging lacing in a spider web fashion. The smell had a good about of licorice, light coffee, light milk chocolate with some booziness swirling around together underneath my nose. The taste was sweet and boozy around the chocolate, coffee and alcohol. There was a light sticky boozy chocolate aftertaste and a dry coffee/chocolatey finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with more of a sipper’s type of quality to it. The carbonation seemed fairly light, but that’s okay, its nothing that was bad. Overall, what a nice Imperial Stout I would have again.

Got the body of Cake, but the flavor is fleeting with a dry chalky finish
