12 oz. can served in a Westbrook tulip. Thanks to rnorgart for the cans.
A: Pours a hazy yellowish color with some orange tint to the body. A white head forms on the pour, about one finger in height, and dissipates ti a thick ring. Sticky sheets of lacy are left down the glass.
S: Grassy hops with a nice rye character. Not really spicy, but more of a dried grain scent. Sweet malts with a little cracked wheat and some light tropical mango in the periphery.
T: The taste has a much more pronounced rye taste. Slightly spiced with some grainy notes and a little bit wheat sweetness. Grassy hops with some mild citrus orange notes. A little honeydew melon as well. Finish is slightly bitter.
M: Light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Finish is bitter and drying in texture.
O: The rye really compliments the tropical fruit hop profile. Really easy drinking as well. I couldn't drink too many of them in a row due to the dry mouthfeel, but I could definitely put a few back in one sitting.

12oz can dated 6/23/2014, poured into an unlabeled snifter 7/19/2014.
A- Hazy darker yellow body. Very hazy indeed. Comes with a one finger white head, relatively average retention for the style with a fair bit of lacing. Again, this is a very hazy yellow brew, almost opaque but isn't.
S- Juicy grapefruits mixed in with a distinct rye scent, some crackers and bread. Its not complex but quite citrusy, I'm grinning as I'm smelling this beer. Some caramel from the pale malt, but make no mistake, this is quite citrusy and I did not expect this to smell this good.
F- Citrusy grapefruits up front, rye bread in the middle, with a slightly dank resinous hop flavour on the backend that is not particularly bitter. This is quite nice- not complex but somehow well-executed and delivers a nice mix of citrus hoppiness with the rye and pale malts beneath.
M- Medium body, not lacking in body but could use a little more carbonation. Has a dank finish that isn't sticky or resinous or dry, I'm not sure how I'd describe it- it's somewhere in the middle if that makes sense. Not particularly clean/dry, but not particularly sticky/resinous.
O- Westbrook definitely does a great job with the execution of their beers. Just another well-executed brew in their regular lineup. I continue to be impressed by Westbrook's offerings.

Hazy golden orange topped with a nice, creamy head, Juicy, zesty citrus and floral aromas turn spicy and meet an oily/dank/funk/berry-like smell that I associate with Nelson Sauvin. Hoppy, resinous flavors upfront: lemon, apricot, mango, and a bit of pine...all spicy and oily. There's an interesting fresh, almost minty quality that leads to a crisp finish. Just a little cracker malts underneath, but the overall focus is on the zesty-spicy-fresh combo of hops and rye. Medium-light and snappy...super easy to drink. Such a shame Westbrook doesn't supply NC with their delicious beverages (yet). This could be a staple in my fridge.
