on tap at Whole Foods Vienna, poured into a standard pint glass
Appearance: Almost opaque black with generous tan head subsiding to fine lacing
The flavor is big, woody, roasted, with just the right bitter aftertaste, some chocolate and coffee
Overall, a very good stout

From notes on 03/15/12:
Growler from the brewery; Poured in a pint glass.
A - Less than a half inch of creamy, bubbly, khaki colored head that thins out quickly; Approaching black in color with almost no light coming through the glass; Scattered lacing left behind
S - Nice aroma here with notes of roasted coffee with sweet cream, earthy and woody characteristics, leather, chocolate, smokiness, and just a hint of spice, flowers, and anise
T - Good amount of roasty qualities come through here for much of the taste that seem to become more robust as the beer warms; No real sweetness present, but some very mild bitterness does come through for the entire taste; Woody/earthy flavors with subtle floral qualities round out the taste
M - Below moderate carbonation that does manage to massage the tongue; Between medium and full bodied; Pretty smooth mouthfeel that's not overly thick, but coats the tongue after each sip
O - This was a nice, enjoyable stout that succeeds in providing a good dose of roasty flavors/aromas among other complimenting qualities. The carbonation might have been a touch low for my personal taste, but this certainly wasn't enough to keep me from having this beer again in the future. In fact, I've really liked what I've had from Wild Wolf thus far, and look foward to trying some of their other offerings the next time I get a chance.
