I love this beer. Its a great name and idea behind a beer. It gets you excited before you even pop the top. However, once you do open it up, it does not disappoint. It is a full flavored beer that takes control of your taste buds right away. After swallowed the aftertaste left behind is complex and oaky. I would recommend anyone give this Wild Wolf beer a shot. It is great to have great beer coming out of Virginia in 2014!

Bottle shared by djmiller92. Thanks Dave!

The beer is copper to amber hued with an inch or so of off white head. The aroma consists primarily of Belgian yeast and raspberries. Lightly sweet with ample raspberry character. Some floral hops with a dry finish. Medium bodied with moderate bready character. Pretty good.

Interesting Belgian Pale Ale. Described as a year round seasonal with an explanation that each season features a different fruit. I had the raspberry version and it was very tasty.

Poured a clear reddish amber color into my Chimay goblet with a fast disappearing white head and no lacing to speak of.

Aroma is pretty good. The raspberries are quite prominent but not like some annoying fruit/vegetable beer. The fruit aroma is integrated into a Belgian brew with some yeast and spices as main components of the brew.

Taste is similar. Definitely a Belgian style beer with a good hit of raspberries as part of the flavor.

Mouthfeel is light and still rich. The fruit, yeast and spices blend together for a nice smooth brew. Absolutely no hint of 7% abv.

A good summertime brew but I enjoyed mine in February with a lobster dinner. Very good pairing with food. Worth trying.

22oz. bottle into a FW tulip. This is the version brewed with Raspberries.

Pours a dark copper color with a very slight quickly dissipating head. The smell is big on malts, yeast and a massive amount of raspberries. The taste is very good. Definitely a belgian pale as the yeasty characteristics are there but you also get a shot of raspberries on the backend. Also, the raspberries arent too overpowering like in Rubeus for example. Quite drinkable for the style. ABV undetectable. Mild body, very light carbonation.

Overall this is going to be either a like it or hate it kind of thing. I like it quite a bit!

Bottle poured in tulip glass. While a year round seasonal they change out the fruit depending on the time of year - this is for the raspberry version

A - Dark almond with little to no head

S - Nice light smell of florals with a hint of raspberry

T - Very light and refreshing. Hard to believe its 7%! Light hints of the raspberry but it does not overpower at all.

M - Some hints of carbonation that nicely tickles the tongue

O - This is a perfect hot summer time beer. Nice, cool and refreshing I could see this being a issue if you forget the beer is 7%. I will be seeking this out to buy again.

Wild Wolf's "Area 151" is considered by them a year-round seasonal, which they themselves claim makes no sense initially- but they go on to explain that they brew different fruit-style versions of it depending on the season. So far they have done blackberries in the fall, cherries in the winter, and raspberries in the spring/summer. This one I just got in a 22 oz bottle was their raspberry version. It poured a clear, pinkish-red color. The smell was sweet and not too overwhelmingly of raspberries but definitely noticeable. The taste was crisp and clean, and very drinkable. The beer seemed more like a 4-5% than a 7%. The finish was subtly dry and refreshing. I was very pleased with this beer, and am excited to try more versions as the seasons pass.
