Located near the main intersection in town, street parking available. Standard bar & grille vibe and decor. Small bar. Good service, but the beer was less than average. The other 2 breweries in town weren't open, so I got stuck going here. Definitely a pass.

Visited on 8/5/21. Very clean and centrally located in downtown Bennington. Great beer selection - 15+ original beers on tap - and a very robust food menu. Great service - food and beer is very good. Try!

Totally caught me by surprise! Took a while to get there off the exit but totally worth the trip. 14 beers on tap. Diverse selection. Food was great. Literally never heard of this place until today but SO glad I came!

Bennington's one and only brewpub, this little place is a happening joint just about any time of the week. Always clean, quick service, beers are pretty good. TV's are on usually with sporting events. Crowd is super to easy to chat with, and the place isn't too loud. Food is always great. It's a worth a shot when going through this city. Their Breakfast Porter is an absolutely fantastic beer!

Love to stop in for dinner on our way back from visiting family in Syracuse, NY. 5 tour drive from Keene, NH to Syracuse so we are very thirsty and hungry when we arrive!
Love the building, classic vibe right on main 91st. Of Bennington, VT.
Selection is pretty standard for a local brewery. Quality is always good for food and beer.

I've spent a lot of time here and I can say that Madison's is a middle of the road brewpub. Focusing on beer that generally satisfies but not going any further. Its totally British and the menu reflects that. If your in Bennington, go. If you have a large party opt for the nachos and get the 8 buck sampler.

Located downtown in a hard to park area, big lot out back though but even it gets full. Nice space, needs a little updating as it has not changed since opening. Bar in the front soon as you walk in. Staff is always nice. Food is expensive, twelve bucks for a cheese burger in Bennington Vermont is out of the question and that was the cheapest hamburger on the menu, though it was good. They are trying at least to keep up with the craft beer world by having a cocoanut porter (good, not great) and a RIS which I did not try (after dropping twenty bucks for a cheeseburger and ONE beer) because I ran out of money. Sucker Pond Blonde and Old 97 have always been decent, but the craft beer world has changed a bit since this place opened and after having a cheeseburger and a beer, I had no money left for anything else. Worth a stop if you are in the immediate area, but that is it. A much better place can be found ten minutes down the road, The Man Of Kent Tavern in Hoosick, NY. Better beer, better food and more reasonable.

Rustic store front brewpub on the main drag in Bennington with an invitingly warm brick wall interior. L-shaped bar seats about 18 with additional table seating in the dining area overlooking the brewhouse. A dozen well-assorted beers on tap, I especially liked the JU-C Double IPA. Although the lunch crowd was very robust, service was fast and friendly, and the food, typical pub grub, was tasty and reasonably priced. A great little stop off for a quick bite and beer.

Best part of this place is the tasting flights. You get a large laminated sheet with about ten of their beers pictured and it makes it easy to try most of their lineup in one sitting. They have a bar that you can visit but the experience is better if you stay for a meal. Food is pretty decent. Lots of merchandise available but much of it was for seasonal beers that they were not producing at the moment, so i didnt really want to buy stuff for something that i wasnt able to try.

Bennington was kind of a weird experience for me. Travelling back from the likes of Waterbury and Burlington--both of which I've been to many times by now--this town is really on the southern cusp of the state, and it barely feels like the same scene. But I was up for checking out a place I hadn't been to yet, so I figured I'd visit Madison BC on the way back home to PA.

Atmosphere was decent here. Kind of a weird quasi-hybrid between British pub and American sportsbar, with brewing processes in viewing range. Nothing flashy going on, and the building itself seemed on the older side. I didn't really check the place out in too much detail, rather just bellied up at the bar right by the entrance.

There was a good selection of beer to choose from, so I went with a sampler of eight. It was all pretty standard stuff, and nothing really mind-blowing. You know, they have a stout, a pale ale, an IPA, a red ale...that kind of thing. If it ain't broke don't fix it, I suppose. These guys seem to have been around for a while, and they're apparently satisfied with keeping it simple.

Service was fine. It wasn't too busy, and overall I had no complaints. The menu consisted mostly of pub grub and comfort foods, but there was quite a lot to choose from. I went with the bangers and mash, and it was damn tasty, I must say.

Would I revisited MBC? Ehhh...yeah, sure, why not. It makes for a good mid-journey lunch stop either going up to or coming back from the more northern VT destinations. Would I go out of my way to go back? Nah.

Only brewery in Bennington at the moment, this place has a decent pub feel when you first walk in. Plenty of beer nicnacs and whatnot all over the place, with some cool murals on one wall in the main seating area. Long L-shaped bar when you first walk in. Generally 6-8 beers on-tap, with rotating seasonals. Beer to go in growlers available, and I think it was $12 for a 1L fill and $32 for a "German style" 2L swing-top growler. Food was decent, but typical pub fare. Our bartender was very friendly, but not overly knowledgeable about the beers made there. Nice vibe and decently priced, which goes along with it being the only show in town to make it worth a stop if you find yourself in Bennington looking for some beer and food.

I guess I shouldn't gripe too much, as I just moved to the area from the big city. This is still probably the best pub I have found so far in the area. The house brews are good, but I am the type that hates to get the same thing every time I drop in, so I wish the selection was a little greater. Still, Vermonters are cool and I always find someone fun to chat with while I down a couple of the local beers and enjoy their reasonably good eats. It's a great bar the first time, but maybe lacks a little in repeatability, so if you are a visitor to Bennington and have to pick just one place to visit, this is probably the one I would recommend. Better than Carmody's (across the street).

Had to make this a pitstop during a long drive back up Rte 7. Place was very busy but nothing was out of hand and everyone was having a great time. Was surprised to see other beers besides their own available. Sat at the bar with my dad, service was great. One guy was running the bar for the entire place and he kept his cool and was very good at what he did. Sampled a couple beers before deciding on the Belgian Wheat made with Orange Peel and Coriander. Dad got the Honey Wheat. We both ordered the Fish & Chips. Really enjoyed the beer, really enjoyed the food, and even as busy as the bartender was he checked out back to see if I could get some coffee for the drive home. The owner was there too interacting with staff and customers. If you're in the area, make this a stop.

This was our second brewery on our VT brewery tour. We went in as the doors opened at 11:30. We split a sampler with Sucker Pond Blonde, Buck's Honey Wheat, Willoughby's Scottish Ale, Crown Town Pal Ale, Old 76 Strong Ale, Wassicks White Wall, and Whiskey Porter. The staff was super friendly and as soon as we told them that we had six more breweries to visit that day they brought us the check so that we could head out as soon as we needed to. Everyone was really friendly but the beers did not blow me away. My favorite was the Wassicks White Wall, the other two people in my group prefered the Honey What. Really cute brewing area.
