It appears shockingly normal! A 14% "bright ale" that looks like an everyday IPA. It's orange and opaque; clear-looking, but you can't see through it! Fizz and all is good. The smell is sorta weird: definitely DON'T get hops in the nose from this hop-lookin' brew. A little lemon, but definitely some solventy, chemically, alcoholic aromas to it. It smells like the 100% attenuation experiment it is.

The taste is as the nose suggests in that it's a strong, medicinal lemon ball of a beer. The mouthfeel is a zingy (lemon) yet strong experience. It's a paradox in that it IS thin (less dense than water?) while it TASTES thick. It's definitely a novelty brew...but aren't they all these days? At $7 for a 14%er, I'd say its an agreeable encounter.

It certainly looks like a light beer, fizzy and yellow with a thin, weak off-white cap that actually forms something that sets up for the long haul, small as it is, and does manage average spotting.
Spicy, fruity, and lightly grainy with something like (sugared) aloe vera juice, the aroma attempts balance with dry hay and citrus, but its main aspects are boozy and sweet, like a strangely flavored fruit vodka. It's mostly heat and sweetness, but at least I get a hint of earth from malts and some floral hops. I can't overstate the booziness, but it's okay.
I don't know what to make of this flavor. It's all over the place. It's too sweet, it's too hot, it's too messy; it honestly doesn't make a lot of sense. The best I can say is that the actual beer-like qualities aren't completely lost in the monstrousness, which is saying something.
The body is too light, it's a bit too fizzy, it's sharp and biting as all hell. It almost hurts to drink it. That said, it calms down before too long. It's never clean, though, and the sting remains harsh.

What? Why? It's not worth it just to say you did it.

10oz glass at the Underground. Good god, but I've been waiting all year for this nascent beer pub to finally, and verily release this particular offering to we plebian sorts.

This beer appears a clear, pale golden yellow colour, with one finger of loosely foamy, and actually rather creamy eggshell white head, which leaves some nice sheer painted lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.

It smells of pungent orange liqueur, pine resin, lemon floor cleanser, sweetly floral perfume, and some further independent fruity alcohol. The taste is more citrus cream doctored with vodka, grapefruit and lime rind, lemon drops, wet bready pale malt, and more earthy floral, and well perfumed hops.

The carbonation is quite light, but supportive enough, the body an adequate medium weight, and rather sugary in its smoothness, the alcohol informing here as well. It finishes on the sweet side, the fruitiness, malt, and booze all large and in charge.

A big (if not in gravity, I don't know how that works) strong ale, the perfumed essence going a long way in masking the ABV. Glad I sipped this slowly while enjoying the Monday night steak special, for once.

Light straw yellow complexion gives the appearance of an American Adjunct or Malt Liqour with a huge billowing cloud of loosely knit bubbles for a head.

The scent is diverse but unfortunately some of these scents went to off putting. The aroma opens with an aromatic hair spray, the off putting, sweet grainy malt, alcohol and then ends with a fruity lemon and citrus.

The flavor is sharp with alcohol but settles into a rice flavor. The mix gives one the taste of sake as it ends with a fruity peach flavor. The end really saves this from being below okay.

The feel was sharp with alcohol as was the taste but then ended relatively easy.

In some respects this should be viewed as a novelty and not a beer to be judged in a contest but that said I failed to find this worthy of a second try.

Pours amber with a small head.
Very malty aroma but also a fair bit of piny and grapefruit-like hops.
Sweet flavours at first, lots of clean malt. Then pine and grapefruit roll through followed by a aggressive bitterness and lots of overt booze.
Too much carbonation.
Booze dominates this one.

On tap @ Bar Mikkeller in San Francisco.

A - Cloudy orange/yellow with a thin layer of white head.

S - Sweet and boozy (in a good way). Grape musk, honey and some citric and floral notes.

T - Very strong alcohol presence that gives way to sweetness with honey, candy sugar, maple and lighter caramel. Drinks very big. A slow sipper.

M - Medium body. Light carbonation.

On-tap. ½ pt glass. Enjoyed on agt´12. Pure gold in color. Chill haze. White, creamy foam creates a close fairly good retention crown as long as collars on sides. Fresh aromas: floral, herbal, citric, tropical fruit & pineapple. Gentle malty upfront followed by citric flavor & apple tartar touch. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Cider notes in the middle & evident warming alcohol lingers into your throat. Fruity finish. Warm & tartaric aftertaste. Watch up! Unexpected high ABV from a blonde one.
