Got this one from the De Molen beer shop in Bodegraven.

From a bottle into a snifter.
Bottled 8 October 2013

APPEARANCE: A clear and very dark brown pour yields a two finger, medium looking, fluffy tan head with very good retention. Black body with medium levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full foam cap that sticks to the sides of the glass. A splotchy wisp remains leaving some decent lacing down the glass. Good look for a 7% stout.

SMELL: Good milk sugars and vanilla on the nose. Milk chocolate, caramel notes and some slightly roasted coffee beans. Lots of caramel and milk chocolate here. Pretty good really.

TASTE: Vanilla and milk sugars, caramel and milk chocolate up front. A solid and lingering finish of lactose, caramel sweetness, chocolate bitterness and some roasted, burnt espresso beans as well. Coffee, with lots of sweet cream and caramel lingers on the palate.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Silky on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit mouth-coating. Pretty decent feel.

OVERALL: This is pretty good. It's only a 7% stout, but the look is on par with some of the big boys, and the feel is not as sticky as some of the more extravagant stouts out there. A solid milk stout that is definitely worth checking out if you can. Recommended.

Such a nice, smooth, rich beer. Notes of cocoa, vanilla, cream coffee. A hint of roast, but soft, smooth roast character. So delicious!

Beautiful black/brown with thick foamy brown head.

Smell is semi-sour, hoppy, coffee chocolate - simply put - very weird and not integrated. Does not invite a taste.

Taste is hoppy sweet chocolate that is not integrated and finish is a simple bitter. Not one of the most pleasant

Pours black with a dark tan head.
Nose shows chocolate, burnt chocolate cake, soft spicy hops and sultanas.
Decadent flavours. Lots of roasted malt, some dark chocolate, soft lactose sweetness underneath. The booze is a bit aggressive in the finish especially when accompanied by the full-on roasty and hoppy bitterness.
Nice creamy carbonation and syrupy body.
