Great dark brown head, good retention, solid black brew, little lacing.
Stout aroma of cacao and roasted malts. A little cream, maybe a hint of cherry.
Flavor follows the nose. Cacao and cream first hit, followed by a massive dose of roasted barley. Very delicate and mild cherry from the mid palate through the finish. Really dark, really good.
Thick and chewy feel. Full bodied, with a long finish.
This is an excellent imperial porter. It hits every wicket; it's balanced; it doesn't overemphasize any particular flavor. I think a little more cherry would help differentiate it more, but it's very good. Try a bottle.

22oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter.
Pours out a very thick opaque black color, with a short lived dark mocha colored head that quickly vanishes. No lacing, but some fairly thick legs left after a swirl.
The aroma is dominated by booze at first. As it warms, some chocolate, chocolate covered cherry, dark cherry, a bit of dark fruit
Very nice taste, quite a bit of complexity. Silky, lots of milk chocolate, the cherry isnt as in your face as I expected, but is just right, with its tartness adding an almost lighter feel to a usually thick sticky beer. More and more cherry as the beer warms. A bit of caramel and coffee, cookie, a bit of a nutty quality.
Really nice mouthfeel, which seems to be one of the highlights of all the IBB versions. Quite silky, very smooth. The cherries add a nice tartness.
Overall, this is a really great beer, but a hard one to put into words in a review as all the flavors just seem to meld with one another. Not really better than the original, but definatly not worse either.

A - Dark chocolate brown with a light milk chocolate head
S - Roasted espresso, milk chocolate, light vanilla and a slight metallic twinge as well
T - Dark roasted espresso and a slight milk chocolate, vanilla with a slight tartness to it from the cherry. There is also a slight roasted malt. This reminds me of Imperial Biscotti Break with a sour cherry that doesn't fit in well
M - Smooth creamy mouthfeel with a slight astringent and metallic finish
O - Overall, I like regular biscotti break way better than this one as the cherry makes this slightly metallic and tart. The cherry just doesn't seem to fit in here well at all.
