Thick tar like pour, this jet black stout oozed into the snifter. The head was a thick brown pillow of dense foam that left curtains of lacing.
The nose is full and rich with vanilla, coconut, lots of coconut, chocolate, caramel malt, oak, bourbon cream and some dark fruit.
The flavor is luscious creamy chocolate, coconut, vanilla, a mid palate of yet more chocolate and a fudge like finish. Throughout, there's a subtle bourbon creaminess that is never intrusive but simply amplifies the flavors.
The feel is thick, smooth and velvety; masking any and all alcohols yet never being too sweet.
Double Barrel Hunahpu and King Henry are the only two that may beat this out otherwise this is the new Gold Standard.

Thanks to Joel for breaking this one out.
Viscous pour, thick brown-black, with a solid brown head that sank to a collar and held there, lacing the glass nicely. Lots of chocolate and dark malty goodness in the nose, notes of licorice, almond, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor profile started out much like the regular version of the beer, or the regular/imperial version, but quickly gave way to a huge wall of brownie batter, fudge soaked in bourbon--salivating--lesser notes of almond and vanilla, caramel. All things good and stouty. Robust mouthfeel, smooth and creamy, full body. Excellent overall. This could stand and hold its ground right alongside any BCBS variant, and other big boys of the style.
This was quite a surprise. I mean, all the other versions of this beer have been pretty good, but this was easily the best that I've tried, and I'd say most likely the best Evil Twin beer I've had to date. Must get more.
