A: Dark oily black body with a thick dark brown creamy head. Leaves lacing on the glass.
S: Smells very strongly of both bourbon and oak. Nothing else comes across the nose.
T: Right off the bat the bourbon, then a some dark chocolate and espresso without just a hint of bitterness. It tastes wonderful. The bourbon is very strong, but not to the point where it tastes like I'm drinking bourbon. Although the bourbon flavor is there, neither the alcohol from it nor the beer stands out. It has just a hint of bitterness but it is very very light. I get the presence of oak in the beer but only via the bourbon flavor. It doesn't stand out by itself. It's hard to describe what makes this beer taste so good. The best way I can put it, is that every flavor seems to fit into place like puzzle pieces.
M: The mouthfeel is perfect. Nice and creamy, full bodied, coats the mouth elegantly, and finishes clean. No harsh bitterness at any point. Everything right where it should be.
O: After taking the first sip I knew that I liked this beer. It is something I very highly recommend. I would buy it again.
