This is a really big beer and we wanted to put it in small bottles, but the two bozos were so fat they couldn’t fit on the label. Enjoy this rich, ridiculous and screwball-ish Imperial Stout with hints of: molasses, lactose, chocolate, almond, hazelnut, vanilla bean, cinnamon, oak spiral, chili, marshmallow, muscovado sugar, chesnut and coffee. Made for Bozos.

it's a good beer. It's hard to tell a lot of it's character when there are so many adjuncts and flavor profiles going on at once. I'm familiar with the muscovado beers from Evil Twin and it fits that character precisely. Definitely a stout but also with a Belgian quad quality to it. The molasses is there certainly, Plentiful chocolate as well between the chocolate addition nd the roasted malts. The cinnamon and chili add in a decent "Mexican style" stout to the mix. The marshmallow is a bit subdued as it the coffee surprisingly. Oak spiral is something I still have to develop a pallete for the sniff out, which is a little hard when they only seem to be added to these superstar roster type beers. I can also add that at 17%+ it is very smooth, and tastes more like a 12% beer which is a funny thing to say in some ways. Good beer though.

L: Pours a thick, oily umber that is near-black, forming a thin carob head that is quick to fade. Leaves behind a trace of bubbly retention and a faint ring of soapy lacing around the edge of the snifter. Held to the light, this beer has a chunky, nutty brunette hue that is impenetrable.

S: Baker's chocolate, lactose, roasted malts, coffee roast, burnt sugar, char, and spices (vanilla, cinnamon, and perhaps a hint of allspice?).

T: Decadent. Starts off with a heavy back-to-back of rich chocolate malt and lactose, which morphs into burnt sugar, almonds, vanilla, and cinnamon. Coffee bitterness is present in the middle along with roasted malt, char, and hints of oak. There is a pleasant boozy warmth towards the end, and the chilis are faint yet make an appearance in what is overall a bitter finish despite the initial rush of sweetness. Well-balanced, does not stray into cloying. Quite the treat.

F: Full-bodied, thick and robust, with a creamy and coating mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. There is a lingering chili/espresso kick that really stands out.

O: Evil Twin has consistently released good stouts and this was no different. The sheer volume of ingredients on the label was a bit concerning, but the drinking experience put those concerns to bed. Flavor is tremendous, nice body/mouthfeel, aromas were perhaps the weak spot here but you don't drink beer for the olfactory experience. Hefty ABV is relatively well-concealed, a true dessert sipper. Purchasing this again.

L: Poured from a pint can into a sniffer - dark thick motor oil pour with a fingers length of foam risen to the surface. Slight lacing left behind as the beer dissipates into liquid form.
S: Getting huge notes of milky chocolate followed by some molasses, vanilla, hazelnut, coffee
T: Taste follows the nose at 100%. The craziest thing is that you cannot taste the 17% at ALL in this one. The balance is amazing here as well. Milky chocolate, hazelnut, getting some almonds in here too. Coffee with a smoothing vanilla to even out the flavors. Jeez.
F: Easy to sip - very very dangerous. Heavy bodied, a bit thin, carbonated. This is a monster.
O: Definitely one of the cheapest 17% beers I've bought as well as the best 17% beer I've had. This fly's circles around dogfish world wide utopia. Easy. Will be buying again in bulk as I know this one will run out of any place sold at. Definitely worth a try.

A - Pours pitch black with a two finger fizzy tan head.

S - Aroma brown sugar, roasted malts and char.

T - The taste is dark roasted malts, black licorice, molasses, burnt sugar, charred wood and lingering alcohol burn.

M - Full body with medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a soft drying finish.

O - This is one big bad stout. Flavors are there with a lingering brun. Honestly drinks easier than 17.2%.

16 oz can from Tavour. Black as night. Still waters run deep. Woody, boozy, sweet aroma. Way too much going on. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, woody and burn. Full and rich.

473 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 17.2%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, roasted nuts, vanilla, chocolate, oak and coffee. Soft carbonation, soft mouthfeel for its strength. Sweet flavour, with notes of roast malts, marshmallows, chocolate, vanilla, roasted nuts, spices and coffee. Moderate bittering hops. Flavour bomb!

Bozo Beer is the original "extreme" imperial stout coming in at a whopping 17.2% ABV (wine comes in around 13% for comparison). The can states over 10 flavor compounds but the main flavors I get are the oak and turbinado sugar. The beer is good, but becomes great in the barrel (see BA version review).

Pours a dark brown color with a small mocha head that quickly recedes leaving no lacing.

Smells of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, spiced and faint booze.

Taste follows the nose. Tons of malt and very flavorful. Rich and satisfying.

Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Low carbonation but quite prickly.

Unbelievably drinkable for such a huge beer. Impressed how well the booze is hidden. Glad I tried and would gladly have again.

1 pint can, no idea about bb, the markings are impenetrable.

Very dark opaque brown. Brown thick foam, disappearing fairly rapidly and not leaving anything.

Nose is peanut butter with lactose. And too obvious alcohol. Coffee beans and brown sugar. Not really enticing, the booze is too obvious and the aroma is just too.... thin, for a big imp.

Taste brings the red berries of the coffee beans to the front. Alcohol grows as the beer warms up, sucking all of the oxygen out of the room, gaining a perfumy edge. Some hop-derived bitterness but it gets swamped by the cheap spirit funk.

I have had some exquisite examples of this type (even higher alc) imperial stout, but this one is coarse. Half the strength and you would have an average imp. This has nothing going for it except the booze.
