A few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar and by all means aged in barrels and blended into a this very unique and rare tasting version standing in front of you.

Double Barrel Jesus
12% ABV Imperial Stout brewed by Westbrook Brewing Co. for EvilTwin Brewing
Poured into snifter thick and black like motor oil. Small 3cm head, decent lacing on the glass that disappears quickly. Absolutely opaque.
Nose of whisky-infused dark chocolate dominates. Hints of black licorice and anise at the back of the nose. Intoxicating nose.
Roasted malts dominate with dark fudge and whiskey/bourbon taste. Coconut, sweet vanilla, and a smokiness fills out well balanced flavor.
Thick and rich mouthfeel from beginning to end. Blankets the tongue with a fine silky effervescence without the alcohol burn.
An EXCELLENT barrel aged stout from Evil Twin (as usual). Quite pricey, but well worth the entrance fee. A sippin' stout! CHEERS

2015 bomber into a tulip
About as pretty a beer as I’ve ever seen. Pitch black with a 1-finger khaki head leaving lovely lacing.
Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon. On the palate- more roast and much heat followed by a long oaky finish. Huge body. Thick and creamy. Great old school big BBA stout.
240th beer on the BA Top 250. Surprisingly hard to track down.
