On a pilgrimage for immortal craft beer, we tripped on some heavenly drops of beer with amazingly overwhelming aromas of chili peppers and more, a thick fudge-like body, pitch black color and obviously only made in limited amounts. And the taste….furthermore jesus.

OK bought this at my favorite stout store for $8. I don't typically like buying anything that's under 12 oz but what the hell, it's got chili in it so i'm hoping it will be good. I happen to love spicy beer. My wife even commented "Oh, just a little beer tonight?" so yeah i'm a little embarrassed to be drinking it. This beer says it's from Spain, so that's rather exotic, as i usually drink American beer. Poured it out dark brown, with a half inch head that settled down and made a nice ring around the glass. The scent is rather nice, it's got notes of raisin and cherry, and a little sting to the nose from the chili peppers. This beer actually smells spicy and that's something i really like. Now for a taste. Well this tastes predominantly like bittersweet chocolate and coffee. It has a rich dark flavor, smoky and a bit like campfire. The chili peppers are there as an aftertaste, coating the mouth with a slight sting several seconds after the swallow. They're not particularly strong, they are more like an afterthought. I prefer my beer spicier, but it's nothing to complain about. Mouthfeel is thick an oily, with a peppy effervescence that sparkles a bit. Overall, it's a decent beer, nothing outstanding about it, but a solid effort. I've had far better spicy brews, but it's respectable.

11.2oz can labeled batch 20 (can't find a key so that's useless info) poured into a perfect pint glass at just above fridge temp 12% ABV. The beer pours dense black with no light penetration and medium brown, copper tinted head. The head recedes to a thin ring and a few tiny bubbles. Some tiny spots of lacing are left on the glass after each sip. The aroma is mild chili, dark chocolate, faint coffee and roast. The taste is bittersweet caramel and chocolate up front with a tasty pepper heat swelling up in the middle and riding out revealing a little roasty malt and coffee on the finish. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with just less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good (if you enjoy pepper heat. No alcohol presence in the aroma or taste. The flavors are somewhat muted by age (can was $1.50 - store brought them in as a distributer close out).

Pours a viscous, motor oil looking liquid. Yet, it has a touch of clarity, not quite black, more like dark mahogany. A minimal mocha head quickly dissipates and leaves a ring.
You can smell the chili peppers upon cracking open the can. It blends well with aromas of chocolate fudge, dark toasted malts, coffee and a touch of woodsy hops.
Surprisingly the taste opens sweetly with notes of milk and dark chocolate, biscuity and dark toasted malt and caramel. However, the slickness of the chili peppers is immediately evident in the finish. The spice is a good compliment to the stout base; not too warming or hot. There is a touch of earthy and woodsy hops bitterness for balance, as well as some roasty/coffee like flavors. In addition to spicy, the finish is sticky and semi dry.
Medium to full bodied and a little thin for the style. The mouthfeel is smooth, mouth coating and with a gentle carbonation. Easy to drink for an imperial.
Pretty good stout. I especially liked how the chili flavoring was not too hot and provided just the right amount of counterpoint to the sweetness of the chocolate flavors.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours an inky black (SRM 39-40) with an almost nonexistent tan head. Initial impression is dark chocolate, rich roastiness, espresso, blackstrap molasses, and chili pepper. Mouthfeel is medium thick. Finish is raosty, bitter, and has a nice chili-pepper heat. Overall, a very very enjoyable Imperial Stout!

11.2 Fl Oz bottle, no born on date due to brewer indifference, poured into a tulip glass at 55 degrees F:
L - Black with a hazelnut head that dissipated slowly
S - malt and not much else
T - wow! better than expected. on top of being a superior stout, the chili hits you on the finish at just the right amount of heat
F - thick mouthfeel with medium carbonation throughout.
O - a very nice beer that doesn't feel like 12%. Nice chili heat on the finish

Pours black with a creamy brown foam head that recedes with decent retention. Smells like sweet spicy chili peppers, smoky roasted malt, rich fudgy dark chocolate, coffee roast, smoked meat, dark fruits, dark caramel, dark molasses, toasty toffee, with floral earthy herbal piney hops. Tastes dark, rich, roasty, with rich dark chocolate notes, chocolate fudge, espresso black coffee, dark fruits, lightly spicy chili peppers, smoky roasted malts, smoked meat, dark caramel, dark molasses, toasty toffee, hint of vanilla, with earthy herbal piney hops. Feels medium bodied, thick, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a real nice imperial stout with chili peppers.

I just don't like this beer. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good. I dumped it out. Beers with Chili's isn't for me. I wasn't impressed at all.
Don't get why it's rated highly
Def Pass on this one, unless you love peppers. 2/3 ppl poured this out after 2 sips. I would have rather kept the 8 bucks personally.
