A: The beer is a deep shade of amber in color and clear with no visible carbonation. It poured with a thick ring of beige bubbles and some delicate lacing covering the surface.
S: There are light to moderately strong aromas of caramel malts and citrusy hops in the nose.
T: The hops contribute a moderate amount of bitterness and flavors of grapefruit to the taste, which also has some hints of malty sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is quite malty and tastes strong, but most of the alcohol is well hidden. There’s nothing overly special about the beer when it is tasted individually but it pairs very well when mixed in with the Evil Twin Yang, adding a nice amount of bitterness to the stout.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a light haze and a moderately strong effervescence. Head is a thin finger of frothy ivory foam. Not too bad.
Smell: strong hop aroma which is mostly floral but has some citrusy and earthy character too. It works for me!
Taste: caramelly malt flavor with a big hop character which is floral, green and a little dank. Bitterness is a little light for the style but OK. Not too bad, but kind of muddled.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a great carbonation and creaminess. Bam!
Overall: the flavor is muddled and not well balanced in my opinion. Not a terrible beer, but also not one that really grabs me.

Pour is dark copper, strong haze and a dense yellowish white head with some large bubbles. Nose is strong pine, light citrus, notes of caramel and a touch of cardboard. Taste has more pine, cardboard, lots of malt, caramel, brown sugar, a touch sticky. Full bodied with assertive carb. Some residuals left.
