Pours a transparent golden body with hazy hues beneath the persistent feather white head that holds on for most of the beer's duration.

Aromas consist of yeasty farmhouse funk, lemongrass and hints of coriander and grass.

Flavors offer yeast and again lemongrass, as well as some spice notes such as peppercorns, and touches of wheat.

Medium to lighter in body with medium carbonation and an earthy finish.

Not a bad Saison but perhaps not as clean and pronounced in terms off the typical style characteristics as some of its peers.

look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

Refreshing beer, not a great Saison though. Pours a hazy dark gold color with a huge delicately bubbly white head. Good retention and several bands of lacing on the glass.

Aroma is lemon zest, some spices (definitely black pepper, maybe a little coriander too), and Belgian yeast.

Flavor is more of the same but what is missing is a big, not so subtle barnyard/musty/horseblanket thing that is so welcome in the best Saisons.

Mouthfeel is pretty good. The level of carbonation is just right and the beer is plenty rich enough.

Good beer but needs more "funk" to be a top Saison.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Appearance - 1 finger head, not as big as Saison should be. Very light, cloudy body

Smell - mild earthy and funk, vinegar?? Interesting...

Taste - smooth, no abrasive overly funky tastes, some earthiness. Refreshing, raw asparagus.

Mouthfeel- smooth, not quite as carbed as most (good in this case)

Overall, good not great. Not worth price tag

Bottled 11/7/13

Appearance: Pours cloudy straw yellow with a small, white head that quickly collars.

Smell: Lemon peel, coriander, honey, tangerines/peaches with some undeniable funk.

Taste: Begins with honey and tangerine/mango. Middle of the mouth is earthy bitterness with some funk. It finishes semi-dry with lingering notes of the earthy bitterness and funk from the middle with remnants of the honey/tangerine in the background. There's not much booze to speak of, though you might guess it could be above 6%.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and sticky, with good carbonation.

Overall: This was better than I thought it would be. It's a really good spring/summer beer and a pleasant surprise.

A:
Pours a brilliant clear golden straw with three fingers of foamy, creamy white head that rockily settles to an inch. Good retention; lots of web-like lacing.

S:
Smells like a bready, delicious Saison. Warm, floral yeasty phenols mixed with bread malt aromas; rose water, dandelions, white pepper, bubblegum, dough, etc. Lovely.

T:
“Huh, that is awfully fucking good,” I said. Fresh and doughy, with spicy phenols, some very aromatic floral notes with stannky herbs, fresh citrus, and white wine flavors coming in at the middle and finish. The finish is increasing medicinal with a long-lingering hoppy stickness at the back of the throat.

M:
Light to medium bodied with a slightly boozy-feeling velvety mouthfeel. Good carbonation, lingering finish, slight aftertaste from hops.

O:
Very good take on a Saison.
This is one of my favorite styles and I am glad to have tried this fairly hoppy, semi-funky version of one. It pours quite nice looking with the gratuitous head that a beer like this should have. It has a very pleasing aroma with many classic Belgian characteristics. The beer on the whole is tasty, refreshing and just hoppy enough to give you a twinge in your cheek.
Would have again; worth seeking out.
