Bottled. Pours hazy, amber and with a huge off-white head. Fair lacings. Nose of citrus, grape fruit and of course notes like cats piss. Medium sweet flavour with citrus, grass and fruity notes. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Creamy textuere. Nice bitter finish. Rather crisp and definitely interesting.

Also bottled as Cats Piss.

Pours a hazy dark amber with a VERY thick pale honey-tan head. Be careful, this can fizz like nobody's business! Hoppy aroma is sharp and has a fruity undertone. Flavor is fairly hoppy and a little fruity with a bit of a metallic tang and just a little bitterness. Edgy, tingly, firm-bodied texture leaves a hoppy, fruity and slightly sweet finish. Cat p*ss indeed!

A: a huge fills most of a duvel tulip head that is off white in color almost tan. The body is cloudy brown and not pale at all. Head is very slow to fall and does leave large amounts of lacing.
S: the strangest hop nose, not exactly pine, nor grapefruit or even grass, the beers name, as bad as it sounds actually describes the smell rather well.
T: not overly sweet as I was expecting for some reason. Same hop profile as the aroma, add a touch of yeast spice, and a light amount of malt sweetness
M: very smooth, clean on the palate, the only thing that lingers is the gritty hop flavor.
O: where can I find a sixer of this, as odd as it is, it is a good, yet different IPA.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a brownish-yellow color and a cloudy/murky consistency (much muddier than the typical IPA). There was a huge, creamy, long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A sharp aroma of citrus, hops, malt and some grain.

T: Tasted of hops (a pretty big dose of them considering this is a regular IPA), malt, a biscuity quality, and a slightly grainy finish. Essentially not a run-of-the-mill IPA flavor, but still pretty satisfying.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a prickly, lively finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A slightly unusual beer, but drinkable and worth a shot.

A - Cloudy orange-brown with a finger of frothy off-white head. Fades fairly slowly.

S - Earthy, floral, and pine hops, some herbal esters, sweet caramel malts, and some grains.

T - Earthy, pine, floral hops, some bitterness, sweet caramel and grainy malts, lemon zest, biscuit.

M - Medium bodied moderate carbonation. Smooth with a dry, bitter, and lightly sweet finish.

D - Nicely balanced. Good overall IPA with a pine and grassy hop profile.

Explodes out of bottle with a five+ finger off-white head that fades very slowly to a lump leaving chunks of lace. Hazy light amber color with some yeast left in bottle. Pine hops nose. Fierce carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor has some caramel with pine hops. Decent IPA. Pricey at $7.70 for a 330ml bottle from Tully's Beer & Wine Wells, Me. Best before 2013. Labelled as Katz Pis.

The appearance of this beer is actually kind of ugly. Super hazy brownish yellow, with funky sediment.

The smell is pleasing though. Some piney hop comes out as well as a bit of grape and a tiny bit of honey.

I'm going to try to be objective here, because I am not an IPA fan. So for those who enjoy hops there is a decent hop character here, but mellower than your extreme hopped IPAs. Within this I find some bitter citrus, some light fruity sweetness like grapes or pineapple, and a bitter finish. Not so bad aside from the finish, but among IPAs this is pleasing, so I'll be careful not to slam the rating.

Hmmm, feels like hop sediment and soda water on its way to being flat.

thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing this, enjoyed chilled in a tulip

The color is dark golden with very hazed look and half the glass was foam...even when poured slowly. The lace clings in thick rings. The smell is good very floral and tropical aroma w/ lots of yeast esters bringing the fruitiness level out. The feel is mostly dry with semi-dry finish and mild alcohol with medium body and moderately bitter.

The flavor starts out piney with a gentle citrus aspect... the tropical fruit and melon seems to come forward more as it warms with a light caramel tinge and mild grainy flavor from the malt more toward the finish. Overall this is a good IPA, definitely better than average but it is not really the best choice for the price I am guessing

Served from bottle into a Mikkeller stemmed tulip. Poured yellow-orange with a four finger off-white head that subsided two fingers extremely slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, citrus hop, earth, fruit, litter box, and earth hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, citrus hop, earth, earth hop, and spicy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. The aroma on this one was really quite nice. I found it kind of comical that I found litter box in the nose based on the name of this brew, but it definitely worked with the balance of things going on here. The flavor was a little more spicey and citrus forward which was nice, but not awe-inspiring. Good easy drinker. Worth trying if you get the chance.

Bottle from recent Chicago trip, Westlake Liquors. Pours, even for me, monstrous amount of foam. Bottle was a foamer. Neutralized aroma through the perfumed Sauvign hops, let's call it a neutral aroma. Tingling yet creamy mouthfeel of hops and malt. Not bad to drink, bit took some getting used to. Would not want it every night.

Pale amber, slightly cloudy with a huge off-white head that steadily shrinks to a thin, rocky, foamy top and some decent lace.

Aroma is nice juicy-yeasty character with pine sap, wood, leafy vague citrus. It has fairly subtle complexity and a firm, pleasant slightly medicinal hint. The “cat pee” hint is not evident at first but rears its head eventually and only lightly.

Taste is medicinal peppery quality up front with caramelized sugar, yeasty juiciness, some light toastiness, then candied bitter burnt orange peel, spicy pepper bitterness taking over at finish strongly. It is good, if somewhat astringent and a touch too bitter. The feel is thin but not watery.

First off this beer is by far and away biggest gusher i have ever had. Just exploded out of the bottle with easily losing 6oz. The remaining beer is full of floaties in a muddled chestnut brown with a creamy eggshell finger of foam, looks like an ugly quad almost. The nose really is redolent of pepe du chat, gooseberry, bright herbal citrus with a nice minerality with a touch of dry malt - very sauvignon blancesque. The taste is of medium roasted malts, light citrus and a pleasant dry hoppy bitterness. The beer feels a bit flat (probably lost all its carb when it expolded) and a touch watery. Definitely not worth $9.99 but not too bad of a beer.

Picked up a bottle in Madrid. Actually the label says "cat piss". Made me want to try it. Poured into a wine glass. Nice hazy orange hue and decent lacing. Smell is malty with mild pine it not spectacular. I have smelled cat piss before and this is lacking the same aroma. Taste is like sour pear with some malt backbone and hops. Not overly aggressive as the name would suggest. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and actually pretty good. Overall above average for European IZpA but still not quite what I was hoping for.

Poured from the bottle first into a tulip glass, then a nonic pint glass. More explanation to follow.

An absolutely giant ridiculous foaming head of off tan light caramel. Stupid clumpy and chunky stick. When opening there was a strange pop/gush sound. Fairly uniform but just ridiculous and outrageous. Body color sits with a dull murky brown, some hints of amber orange but very cloudy and muddy. Pouring into a pint glass doesn't help, with a small pour taking over 90% of the glass with suds. This beer looks ridiculous and stupid.

Nose is interesting. Chewy and dense sense, but with a hop profile that I can say I have never recognized before. After some time it becomes very earthy, dirty, and even a hint of manure. Some hints of pine and citrus, but mostly earth. Really hard to describe this nose.

Taste is extremely bitter at first but gets better. Bitterness is strange that it hits the front of the palate with big lime astringency and chemical feel, and stings my tongue with a tiny tonic water tight carbonated sense reminiscent of hydrogen peroxide. Little bit of pine, but matching the earthy dirt and manure sense on the nose. Earthiness gets bigger as the beer warms up. Feel also brings stinging pine needles and chemical medicinal sense.

This is one really strange beer, I don't mind it but it's really odd.

Golden yellow, only thin ring of head to begin with, some sticky lacing. Grassy scent, some muddy earthiness and medicinal alcohol notes. Taste again is grassy with a faint herbal note, some lemon and a bit of earthiness like muddy stale water. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Expected pungency from the hops in a beer of this name really never comes through in scent or taste. Moderate in bitterness and some unfriendly scent and taste notes. Stale tasting.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: light gold hue with a hazy body and some tiny floaties in the mix. Head poured a gargantuan 3+ fingers of pillowy ivory foam. Not bad.

Smell: bready/biscuity/yeasty malt base with a funky hop mixed in. This particular mix doesn't really work for me.

Taste: biscuity and bready with a little bit of citrusy hop. Actually not too bad. Bitterness is moderate and the citrusy flavor works well.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: I like this beer, but the smell really gets to me. It's not nasty or anything like that, it just seems ... unlikeable to me. Far too yeasty/bready. I wouldn't seek this beer out again.

At work we open the case of this stuff pull a bottle out and low and behold it says Cat Piss on it with the ingredients in Danish! No Katz here just a euro Cat who has a freshly emptied bladder.

A- pours a murky almost brown deep amber with a MASSIVE three fingers of billowy off white head that just won't quit. Sticky lacing covers the sides of my tulip.

S- stings the nostrils a bit as I take a wiff. Woody pine sap, berry passionfruit and lemon zest hop aromas wiggle their way into you sense of smell. Dry biscuity malt with the lightest touch of caramel. Slightly yeasty with a leafy green hop finish.

T- Toasted bready malt with a hint of caramel hits the palate initially. Crunchy big hop bitterness demolishes any sweetness inthe middle leaving a hop flavors of pine sap, lemon zest and sweet herbs. Finishes bone dry with a yeasty characteristic.

MF- very active tingly mouthfeel with highly frenetic carbonation and a light body.

D- very bitter IPA cuts down on the drinkability. Average at best.

Overall an OK IPA

on tap at devils den in philly

Pours a clear golden amber color, nice crop of white head rests on top and retains well while drinking, leaving patchy curtains of lacing on the glass.

Juicy hop nose, orange and rind with some softer apricot notes. Bready sweetness and faint caramel.

Bitter up front with citrus, very juicy on the tongue. Orange and grapefruit with some sweeter fruit notes of apricot and pear. Nice malt backbone, bready and caramel tones. Bitter and dry in the finish with some more abrasive pine resin.

Medium body, nice carbonation, sticky and lingering on the tongue. A decent IPA, although definitely not worth the high price tag for what it is.

A: The beer is cloudy brownish yellow in color and poured with a two finger high off white head that has excellent retention properties and hardly died down and always left a short head covering surface.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of gooseberries and earthiness in the nose.
T: The taste shares similarities with the smell and has some notes that somewhat resembles ammonia, which I assume was the inspiration for its name.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer definitely has a unique aroma and flavor profile. It definitely takes some getting used to.

Lucky to try this obscure, but not great brew. Poured with a proud foamy, frothy, fluffy, sudsy, cream colored head that lasts forever and lotsa lace. Color is a hazy/cloudy medium ambrer. Aroma yeast, bacteria, malt, caramel. Flavor has the bacteria/mineral/chem in the fore with the nicer qualities right behind. If I had a bit more of a buzz on this woulda got a better rating. Body and carbonation were good. Finish is like flav again with the off characters standing out. Still - a good effort.

Gave this one a pour into a big snifter glass. The head was massive, even with a slow pour it consumed the entire glass nearly spilling over the brim. The retention was good on this beer but the lacing was surprisingly minimal. The beer looked like a cloudy golden color with lots of sediment in there. The smell of the beer was not quite what I was expecting either, it was more on the earthy side. The hops that were used didn't have any of the citrus aromas it was more like an English IPA in my opinion. The aromas of grassy grain were in there as well. The taste of the beer is average to me, it's bitter but it doesn't really scream like some IPA's do. The balance of the malt and hops were decent. The mouthfeel was excessively carbonated. Very very bubbly, not the smoothest beer out there for sure. Overall I bought it because of the name and because the price tag was decent. However, I wouldn't buy this beer again.

Poured from 12oz bottle into new glarus pint glass. They may call it Kat Piss because it's very hazy, unclear but leaves a frothy head that sticks to the glass. Good retention.

The aroma is tooaweet and bready and malty for an IPA for not only American but even an English version. I think they used all Contintental style hops in this beer that gives it a pilsner like aroma. Feels like a helles or pilsner.

Taste is about the same. It's more like an English cask style beer in flavor. Very mellow, non overbearing hops and Laughton sweet and malty. Alot of pilsner overtones.

Mouthfeel is ok, just a bit flat and slightly syrupy.

I was hoping for alot more but I think it's a questions of the target market for this beer and I don't think American craft set palates will take to it quit well if they want an over sexes west coast hops style IPA. I paid $7 for this beer too. Wrong hops. Doesnt balance the malt. Not worth it.

A - Medium orange. Cloudy. Thin layer of off-white head.

S- Earthy and floral hops. Some herbal aromas present as well. Not much evident from the malt bill.

On-tap at Beachwood II,

A: Pours a translucent amber with a medium white head, solid lace.

S: Full of grassy hops with a hint of sweet malt, enjoyable here.

T: Hop oriented initially with a good clean finish. The middle is where this beer loses me. The hop complexity and fruit drops out and gives a somewhat solventy, what I described as mildew character. Earthy, but not in a good way.

M: Crisp full carbonation, medium-bodied, nice finish.

O: This beer is 2/3 nice and 1/3 horrendous. I don't know what's going on in the middle. Fix that, I'd think you'd have a winner.

A: Pours a cloudy dark golden yellow with some hints of brown in color with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy light beige head that very slowly reduces to very thick film evenly covering the entire surface of the beer. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: There are strong aromas of grassy, medicinal, and earthy hops which is slightly off-putting. The aroma is very sharp. astringent and light amounts of grainy malts.

T: Upfront there is a slightly unpleasant and off-putting grainy malts with some earthy mushroom flavor to it. On top of that, there is a strong flavor of grassy, medicinal, and earthy malts which contribute significant amounts of bitterness which linger way too long.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. There is a moderate to significant amount of dryness in the middle of the body and sharply astringent towards the finish.

O: Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) this beer tastes exactly like I imagine cat piss would really taste based on the ammonia component of the smell. The appearance and the smell are OK but the taste of this beer is slightly off-putting - not sure I would want to have another of these.
