12 oz bottle poured into a snifter at cellar temperature.
L – Medium amber color with a 2-finger frothy, foamy cream-colored head. Awesome retention and some fantastic lacing. Clear with lots of bubbles.
S – This really smells close to an American barleywine with caramel and toffee malts, molasses, figs, and a very resinous hop profile with grapefruit and pine notes. There’s some alcohol here, too. This smells like a beast.
T – It starts off slightly sweet with caramel malts and is quickly overtaken by very bitter pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. As the bitterness fades, some more of the richer malt characteristics come back with sweet molasses and fig notes. Definitely some alcohol here, too. Again, close to a barleywine.
F – Medium-full-bodied, good carbonation, a sticky, chewy, and mouth-coating feel, and a very bittersweet and very dry finish. Caramel sweetness lingers for a bit but pine and grapefruit hops linger the longest. There’s definitely some throat and palate-warmth from the alcohol.
O – This is a decent beer but it’s really closer to a barleywine than a DIPA. The 13% ABV seems like a little bit of overkill and cuts down on the beer’s drinkability. Regardless of that, it is pretty tasty and it’s a beast of a beer if you’re into big beers. Worth a try, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out again.

A deep amber in color with a finger of head, tons of lacing and a bit chunky. The aroma is a mesmerizing tropical blend of sweetness, grass and fruits.. Pineapple, mint, mango. The flavor is sweet up front with tons of tropical hop notes followed up immediately by a resiny bitterness. Huge sweet malt background with tons of hops. Barely any alcohol burn, full body, medium carbonation.
This beer is pretty outstanding and I'm gonna go back and pick up a full 4pk next time I'm in NYC.

Had on-tap at Thirsty Monk Asheville. Served in a goblet.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before lowering to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.
S- Surprisingly toned down hop aroma with notes of clementine and grapefruit. Very different.
T- Man that's a burst of citrus like I've never experienced. Almost like drinking grapefruit juice. The alcohol is extremely well masked. I would never guess this was 13%. Tangy, juicy. Just wow.
M- Very soft, almost creamy. Medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Damn this beer is amazing. Dangerously drinkable and oh so tasty. Be careful with this one.
