Did you like Before, During, & After Christmas? Maybe you thought it poured brilliantly, and you loved of the arrogant amounts of hops wowed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscene amount of hops that went down this explosive fella. It’s a tour de force in hoppiness and by far the craziest beer made by Evil Twin… but not the last.

Brewed at Fanø Bryghus.

330ml bottle. Again with the baiting and referencing another beer on the label.

This beer pours a cloudy, murky medium golden amber hue, with two pudgy fingers of foamy, melted marshmallow head, which leaves some splotchy, inverted pyramid lace around the glass as it evenly fades away.

It smells of bitter, somewhat musty citrus rind and pine sap, bready caramel/toffee malt (more the latter, actually), and a rather threatening herbal tincture of alcohol. The taste is orange cream, mildly bitter citrus pith and pine resin, seemingly aerated toffee candy, a bit of biscuity tea cracker, and softly sweet (at this ABV it is) warming, but not dull-edged booze.

The bubbles are quite subdued, the body a hefty medium-full weight, the alcohol-buffeted toffee flyin' high, and similarly smooth, somewhat egregiously so. It finishes on the sweet side, the hops fully crossing the aisle to join up with the lingering caramel malt.

A tasty enough DIPA, but with nowhere near the incendiary level of hop bitterness as promoted by the associated marketing pap. The flip side is, they aren't even all that necessary as a distraction here, given the very well integrated out-of-band ABV levels. I'll still keep a match away from this, more to prevent further caramelization of the malts, as I don't think I could take my IPAs any sweeter than this. Once again, maybe traversing the Atlantic in a container ship isn't the best idea for a beer that we are entreated to 'consume now'.

12 oz. bottle, with bottled on date 04/18/2014 printed on the bottleneck. Another new big beer to me from Evil Twin, this one a 13.00% abv DIPA. The label calls this beer one of the craziest beers made by Evil Twin, so we'll see what that's all about.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a bright murky golden orange colored body with one finger of frothy off-white head. Big chunks of sediment floating in the glass. Noticeable carbonation rushing topside from the etching at the bottom of the glass. Yeah, I'd say this one looks pretty damn nice. 4

S - The aroma is, as expected, a big bitter hop bomb - piney, orange marmalade, horseradish, herbal / tea leafy, with a good dose of sweetened caramel malt in there also. 3.5

T - Taste follows the nose - big & bitter, citrusy & juicy. Herbal & sweet with a leafy tea sort of taste going on in there. Fairly balanced with good caramel malt presence.

M - The feel is smooth and clean, especially for such a high abv beer. Not as ridiculously bitter and dry on the finish as I'd anticipated. Sticky, sugary, and malty. Lower carbonation than usual. Easy to drink for the 13.00% abv.

Overall, a nice strong DIPA from Evil Twin. Not the greatest that I've had, but it has enough going on to keep things interesting. Recommended.

A well balanced IPA. I liked it very well. I am a sucker for heavy alcohol brews and this one fits the bill.

I have braced myself for this one.Pours into a small tulip glass a clear burnt orange tinged golden with a tight formed one finger slightly off white head that sticks like glue to the glass, surprisingly alot of carbonation for a beer this big.Powdered sugar and oily hops in the nose,it just smells menacing,I pick up some faint nuttiness but no alcohol as it warms which is surprising. The alcohol wich was so well hidden in the aromas rears its big head on the palate, sweet fusel alcohol intertwined with citric hops is in your face, there is more caramel-like sweetness but the alcohol sweetness is king.It can barely be called a DIPA but I do like it,it's strong and sweet but the flavors meld well.Be careful here,it's big and in your face.

Snifter at Burnhearts.

Overall, a pretty good imperial IPA. The high ABV is well hidden. A little too much of a slick aftertaste, but a really nice beer.

12 oz bottle, bottled on 7/31/13. Pours golden amber with a medium creamy off-white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet caramel malts, tropical fruits and alcohol.

The flavor is heavily sweet and sugary fruity malts with big bitterness in the finish (that doesn't really dry out the cloying sweetness) and quite a bit of harsh alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Overall, a bit of a mess, cloyingly sweet with some bitterness and a ton of alcohol. Reminds me of DFH 120 minute IPA.

Golden yellow color with some appreciable white head. Decent lacing. Super crazy grapefruit and estery fruitiness. Super grapefruit taste as well. Nice malt backbone to support the rediculous hop profile, but it comes off a bit boozey. Heavily carbonated and nice medium body too. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. This definitely grew on me over the last few bottles.
