Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Surly Darkness chalice.
Appearance: Pours a hazy amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of off white head which slowly fades into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing.
Smell: A ripe, juicy, and dank hop forward aroma with big hints of citrus and pine. Upfront citrus hops with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, lemon, pineapple, tangerine, and apricot. Dank and spicy pine resin along with some grass and floral hints. Sweet malt background with hints of sweet caramel, grains, yeast, and cracker. Very hop forward and juicy. A pretty good aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a very ripe, juicy, and dank hop dominated taste with big notes of citrus, pine, and grass. Citrus hop presence with big notes of grapefruit, orange pulp, mango, pineapple, apricot, lemon, tangerine, and melon. Big dank presence of spicy pine resin and grass. Sweet malt backbone with notes of caramel, grains, yeast, cracker, and slight honey. Very juicy and bitter. A pretty good hoppy taste.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy, oily, and drying on the finish. Somewhat boozy as expected with the 13% ABV.
Overall: A very good imperial IPA. Huge juicy hops all over the place. Not for the faint of heart but great for a hop head.

Bottled 2/12/14, and poured 4/14/14. $4 single. I was a bit hesitant to buy a 2 month old IPA for $4, but the ABV is high enough on this one that I felt it'd keep the hops in-tact for a little while.
Appearance: Poured aggressively and couldn't quite get the whole beer in the glass due to the fluffy, light tan head. Plenty of floaters throughout the glass. The beer is copper-brown in color, and there's a good amount of thick lacing. Unexpected given the ABV.
Smell: Huge. Dank. Beautiful. It's a huge wallop of pine and tropical fruits, but there's a massive malt sweetness (expected for the ABV). The alcohol really isn't there in an obvious way, but you'll probably just get the feeling that this is a big beer, even in a blind tasting. I guess you can just sort of "smell the heat", I suppose? Awesome aroma.
Taste/feel: Massively syrupy sweet at first, unsurprisingly, but also an awesome, dank, bitter hoppiness. Bursting freshness, despite the fact this was bottled a couple months ago. I surprisingly don't find this to be very abrasive/harsh given its intense hopping. Plenty of body with a mild, maybe moderate carbonation. A big, big beer that's a joy to drink. It's more of a sipper, but its surprising drinkability will make you want to drink it a bit fast. Very dry finish due to that 13%. A slight warmth in the throat and on the back of the tongue, with some of stickiness, and nice bitterness.
Since this is 13%, it may be appropriate to call this a "Triple IPA"... but I don't know. Triple IPAs I've had before have tasted like American Barleywines, but this one really tastes like an Imperial IPA.
Phenomenal. $4 seems a bit on the high side (eh, maybe not so much for an Evil Twin beer...), but it is most definitely worth it. It is most definitely a big beer with a lot of sweetness and thickness, but if you like hops, you should be able to appreciate this one... I really, REALLY like it. Given the ABV and the complexity of this brew, there's not too much more I can ask for.
Make no qualms about it, the name "Molotov Cocktail" is a more than appropriate name for this brew -- not for the faint of 'buds.

On tap at Pazzo's (Lexington, KY)
Plain looking amber-colored ale.
Fruity and sweet aroma largely conceals the high ABV, but alcohol esers are certainly present.
ABV not at all concealed upon tasting, whereupon my taste feels lightly burned and alcohol esters are abundant. A solid grapefruit note from ample hops serves as the base. Substantial herbal and pine notes as well. Strong flavored, and just plain strong, a bit harsh and certainly a little challenging to drink.
O: Too extreme for my tastes, but what else should be expected for a IIPA called "Molotov Cocktail" that carries an ABV of 13%.
