330ml bottle poured into tulip 15/1/13
A murky dark amber and it just looks like thick liquid right out of the bottle, I cant see many visible bubbles but there's a two finger head that falls to a dense finger of foam and then it just sits there, great retention with some thick rings of lace, looks bad ass
S I was expecting a massive hop overkill but I'm getting loads of caramels and a little biscuit, fairly malty but there's some citric and earthy hops in there. This was just released here but I'm guessing it took a long time to arrive, it smells decent but faded
T sweet malty caramel notes with some grapefruit rind and pine sap, again it tastes like a massive DIPA but with some time behind it, faint booze but I'd say its very well hidden considering its 13%, I'd never guess its that strong
M thick and just a little gritty, very little heat and that impresses me, piney caramel rind lingers on the finish strong and long
O its a big beer but I was expecting an enamel stripping fuck off monster, reminds me more of a Barley Wine then a DIPA, more malt then expected but still very enjoyable
No bottle date that I can see, I'd assume its relatively fresh seeing how its a new release here in Alberta but all signs point to age. hops have faded, the booze is so well hidden I could see this creating problems for some and the malty caramels coming out strong, I liked it but wonder if its the experience the brewer intended

Had on-tap at Thirsty Monk Asheville. Served in a goblet.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before lowering to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.
S- Surprisingly toned down hop aroma with notes of clementine and grapefruit. Very different.
T- Man that's a burst of citrus like I've never experienced. Almost like drinking grapefruit juice. The alcohol is extremely well masked. I would never guess this was 13%. Tangy, juicy. Just wow.
M- Very soft, almost creamy. Medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Damn this beer is amazing. Dangerously drinkable and oh so tasty. Be careful with this one.
