A: The beer is cloudy dark yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that slowly died down and left a thin head covering the surface and a thick collar around the the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of tropical fruits in the nose along with some faint hints of white wine.
T: A balanced mix of flavors of apples, pale malts, white wine and yeast are present in the taste.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The wine barrel aging adds a slight bit of dryness.
O: I really enjoyed this beer because the flavors imparted by the wine wine barrel aging were well incorporated into the beer.

12oz bottle poured into a goblet.

Appearance: Pours a golden orange color with 2 fingers of a creamy off white head. Good retention and lacing. Body is very hazy with insane amounts of visible carbonation streaming throughout.

Smell: Lemon, floral, white grape, pineapple, yeast spiciness, wood, apples, pear.

Taste: Sweet upfront with a light tartness. Lots of light fruits, grape, apple, banana, pale malt, oak, clove, with hints of vanilla and mint.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the high side.

Overall: Really solid belgian pale. The wine barrel aging definitely noticeable and adds quite a bit of additional complexity. The price point for this is incredibly excessive, but if you're a fan of Belgian blondes or wine barrel aged beers its worth a try.

Big thanks goes out to BeerBuddy2122 for this one as a part of a recent trade! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller Teku. Poured a hazy golden yellow-orange with a thee finger every growing head that remained almost throughout the glass. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, spice, fruit, wood, funk, and subtle strawberry. The flavor was of sweet malt, funk, fruit, subtle sweet alcohol, wood, spices, and banana runts. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. After reading the description of this one I was already excited to see what it had waiting for me. It did not disappoint at all. A really complex and delightful brew for the style. The barrel adds a really nice touch that made this one really tasty and easy to drink. Definitely glad I got the chance to try this one as it is definitely in the top tier from the style.

A: Pours a cloudy golden orange in color with some moderate amounts of golden yellow, orange, and brownish highlights giving it an overall color not dissimilar to apple cider (though a touch lighter). The beer has a one and a half finger tall dense foamy white head that reduces fairly quickly to a slightly mottled thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of light and tropical fruits with hints of oak/white wine - white grapes, apricot, and apples stand out. Very light notes of spicy white pepper.

T: Upfront there is a moderate amount of pale malts with some lighter amounts of light fruit flavors - white grapes, apple, and apricot. Then there is a light to moderate amount of spicy yeast, white pepper stands out, plus the flavors of oak and chardonnay. The aging in the chardonnay barrels really adds/enhances the flavors in this beer, something that is more subtle than other examples where the wine barrel dominates the flavors

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and slightly creamy, coating the inside of your mouth. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: Overall I really enjoyed this beer with the enhancement from the barrel aging- really nice notes from the chardonnay barrel that makes this beer better... The subtle dryness that is added from the barrel aging is very nice - overall the alcohol is well hidden and this is definitely a beer that I would be happy sipping on for a while.

Best before date 2015, opened Aug 2012.

A - Light wheat brown with pink and orange hues. Cream cap of pure white head. Excellent retention and lace.

S - Dry, herbal lemongrass, light florals, and peach.

T - Wow, really nice complexity. Bright lemon, wheat, delicious white peach fruit, and a solid oaky chardonnay.

M - Great mouthfeel. Lively carbonation on a smooth medium/full frame.

O - A great take on a blonde. Well executed with great balance.

A clouded light amber brew, with a white compact head leaving little lacing but good curtains.

The smell has fruit components and alcohol, mango and thinner.

Starting with fresh white bread, oak, red currant and grape peel.

Medium carbonation, foamy small bubbles, soft with a dry finish.

An odd beer, but interesting.

11.2 ounce bottle, label says best before 2015. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a hazy golden/amber color with about a half inch off-white head that stays around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing left on the glass. The brew smells mostly like white wine/white grapes, along with some pears, tropical fruit, and a bit of bubblegum. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some peppery spice and some tart fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, and it has a good amount of soft carbonation which helps make this brew easy to drink. Not sure if I'd buy this again at $8.99 a bottle, but I thought it was worth trying especially if you like wine barrel aged beers. It was a good brew, I liked it.

330ml bottle - Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia. Best Before 2015.

Appearance: Pours out a cloudy, orange-yellow body with a undaunted, surging, white head.

Smell: Slight bready, basic yeasts notes with some more vibrant florals, a noted hint of tropical fruit, with a drop of nostril-clearing peppermint oil and small splash of muddled wine from Down Under.

Taste: Modestly sweet candy crumbs amidst a yeast-clogged bready maltiness washed down with a tall shot of tart, dry white wine. Some underlying mint, a hint of star fruit, though the fruitiness ramps up upon warming. Lightly spicy given an added bite from the alcohol and strong carbonation present. Drying, fruity, sudsy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Highly carbonated.

Overall: It was fine enough. Neither particularly pleasing or displeasing, though, maybe it's best I lost the receipt for this one.
