Pours a pitch black into a 9oz snifter glass. On tap at my local beer shop at their bar. This has a smell of coffee and chocolate and a tinge of alcohol in the background. It's a little bit more carbonation than I'd like with such a dense stout but it doesn't detract from this one too much. Chocolate flavor lingers around for a while and while im a fan of that flavor it also is just a touch more than I expected. All in all this beer really grew on me and I might get tho one again if they run out of Emelisse RIS barrel aged JD

Bottled on 8/23/13 - Poured into Stone Snifter
First look is jet-black used motor oil with thick brown head. Smell is very sweet with cocoa hints, maybe a little coffee and lots of roastiness. Taste is certainly more bitter than was expected from the aroma. Definitely some burnt black coffee along with dark chocolate. Not as thrilled with this as I was hoping. I think I will be purchasing some TenFidy tomorrow!

12 bottle poured into Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass.. First Evil Twin brew.
A: Wow.... JET BLACK and thick looking during the pour.... Good finger and a half of dark tan head that settles to a thin layer with massive lacing from start to finish.
S: I'm getting a little chocolate, roasted malts and a hint of bourbon booziness.
T: Little like the smell... Chocolate, roasted malt and then a strong bitterness all smashing in at the top. Bitterness is pretty strong.
M: Full-bodied, it is smooth yet has a little sharpness. Finish is a little boozy from the high ABV.
O: Not a bad Imperial Stout... But the bitterness is a little offsetting for me. Big ABV on this one makes it a one beer night on this one.
