Attention Brewers: please put best by dates on your hop-forward beers. My intuition tells me I picked up a way too old bottle (if I know that for a fact, I won't review the IPA) but since I have no way of knowing when it was produced, I'll go ahead and review.
Pours a dark amber with just a thin lacing on my tulip. Aroma is mainly crystal type malts with some faint hop citrus in the background. Taste is like a barleywine-light, if such a thing exists. Almost 0 hop character, difficult to finish. Man, when IPA's are fresh they're unreal but when they start to age they fade like no other style. I'm going to say this debacle of a beer that I tasted was just an old bottle, as Evil Twin would not be around if their IPAs consistently tasted this bad. You've been warned so if you must buy this please ask how long its been deteriorating on the shelf.

My bottle was labeled as an Amber Ale, not a brown, or brown IPA. Poured into a standard pint glass. It's dark reddish amber in color with about a finger of tight, nearly white head. Lots of floral and citrus hops on the nose with just a bit of dank. Flavor is also floral, citrus, dank and slightly bitter with gorgeous malt undertones. Smooth and full mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. I really liked this beer right down to the last drop. It was pricey at $3.69 for a single bottle, but I'd definitely buy it again.

On tap at Specialty Beer Cellar. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance - Deep brown. Murky. Medium off white head. Great lacing. Well retained.
Smell - Very piney and grassy. Lots of deep caramel. Almost chocolatey.
Taste - Aggressive grassy hops. Intense caramel body. Grassy hops come back aggrwssively. Extremely bitter.
Mouthfeel - Heavy body. Excessively bitter. Difficult to drink.
Overall - Tastes ok, but this pint will take me forever.
