Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured a vibrant blood red with a half finger very slight pink head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, tart cherry, passion fruit, subtle pineapple, and tart. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, tart, tart cherry, passion fruit, and subtle pineapple. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I really enjoyed this one quite a few times while I was at Trappe Door. It was very easy drinking and refreshing while still being quite complex. Everything going on here kept me coming back over and over again. The tart cherry aspect was definitely going on here, but I was quite surprised to find the passion fruit and pineapple aspect going on. This definitely helped to make it more enjoyable as it added a nice sweet touch to an already solid brew. An absolute must try.

Draft offering at the Farmer's cabinet. Served in a tumbler, the brew initially looks amber in color (due to the lack of light in the establishment.) Only after walking my glass over to the window, do I notice its actually a hazed pink. 2 fingers of frothy pink stained head sit atop and fade slow leaving webby spots of lacing effect.

The aroma is quite funky with mild plastic hints and some sweetness of cherry mixing with malt. There is a bit of a deeper fruit aspect like apple and pear as the glass is swirled. As it warms up, lemony lacto notes evolve.

The taste is dry and surprisingly malty with a toasty biscuit to bready flavor mixed with lemony lacto and some sour cherry. Just like the nose suggests, there is some deeper elements of fruit like apple/pear. A hint of plastic and bread with faint smoke (however that smokiness might come from the fact that the bartender pushed a lit candle infront of my face.)

This is a medium to lighter bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is light, easy drinking and quite complex. It is almost beefy at times as it warms up with much more malt inclusion than im use to for the style but i like it. Once the palate becomes accustomed to the plastic-like funk you can really hone in on the fruited cherry aspect. I wouldnt mind having this again. However, I could see this really appealing to sour heads while traditional berliner fans might be turned off by its polarizing and non-traditional traits.

On Tap at Memphis Taproom.

Uber Tart is a red beer, very blood red looking with some bubbly white bubbles up top leaving minor stick and dwindling down over time. Smell is cherry scented with some faint wheat. Not getting the puffs of lemon as usual with this style. It's pretty standard fare with a twist of cherry. Taste is nice, not uber tart, but a nice tart punch with some faint wheat and lighter malt presence. At 3.4% or whatever, I could drink a whole lot of this and not be overrun with the lactic sourness from some B Weissses I've had. I like the mix in this and will be trying again.

I had this on-tap at Of Love and Regret. Served in a small snifter.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy red with a half finger of light pink, fluffy head. The head fades to a layer and leaves some nice lacing on the glass.

Smell: Tart cherries with a ton of yeast. There is a mild vinegar note as well, but the fruit and yeast dominate.

Taste: This one is extremely tart. Cherry juice and mild vinegar notes show up right away. The overall flavor is a bit watery as you progress through a sip. The yeast is here, but not as prevalent as it was in the smell. Mild banana notes as well with a tart but unspectacular finish.

Mouthfeel: The body is on the thin side with aggressively tingly carbonation. The finish is extremely dry.

Overall: The yeast notes in the nose were a bit much. The flavor fades just a tad too quickly, but those are just small complaints. Light and enjoyable overall.

How did this rate so high?!?!? Let me explain:

A: Looks killer! Thin but with a great watermelon color. Light carbonation. Zero head.

S: Light... slight fruit note. But very very light.

T: Like a soda water for (better or worse). Very watery.... slight citrus. Good tartness. I could pound this is I wanted to. A bit more smooth than soda water though.

M: Super light, not overly aggressive.

Overall if this came in cans for like $5 a 12 pack I would be all over it. It drinks like a lacriox or a san pellegrino. The problem is San Pel is like $2 a bottle and I dropped $20 for a 32oz growler. If you like soda water this might be the beer for you. If you want something with body, big flavor, lots of complexity pass on this. Way too light and unflavorful.
