Appearance: Ok foam and lacing for a stout. Color is ink black...superb.
Smell: Hits all the right notes for a stout: dark fruit, coffee, toffee, and chocolate. Extremely boozy.
Taste/Mouthfeel: See smell. Quite bitter also. Very clean for the level of alcohol in this. Maybe a bit too smooth.
Overall: This stuff can get you drunk quick.

650ml bottle bought online from CraftBeerCo.. My 1000th beer review so i thought it better be something special
Poured pitch black with no hint of colour even when held up to the light. Burnt brown head poured fairly thick with very small bubbles and a meringue like topping... a good one finger of foam remained throughout.. some thick lacing lines...
Aroma - Lots of roasted sweet chocolate malts backed with caramel and strong coffee, toasted nuts - hazlenuts mainly, quite earthy, some faint citrus notes, light liquorice, lots of brown sugar, honey notes, some light smokiness...
Taste - Tons of dark and milk chocolate up front followed by strong black coffee notes, roasted malts, cocoa powder, vanilla, some light smoke just coming through, dark fruits (raisins and currents), fudge, nut brittle, treacle / molasses, alcohol is not noticeable..
Feel - Smooth and velvety with just a little sharpness underneath... full bodied... pretty drinkable for an 11% brew although becomes quite sweet towards the end...
Overall - A superb example of an imperial stout from Evil Twin although a 650ml bottle would be way too much as the sweetness becomes a little much (i shared this one with my wife) ... definitely recommended though...

*22 Oz. Bottle*
Look: Midnight black with a 1 finger deep mocha head. It looks like used diesel motor oil.
Smell: Chocolate/ cocoa nibs, sweet molasses, burnt grains fused with coffee.
Taste: Chocolate, roasted sweet malts, burnt coffee bitterness, cookie dough, espresso, vanilla/ chocolate as finishes.
Feel: Medium body, mild soft carbonation.
Overall: This reminds me of the Caravel Ice Cream Cake blended with my morning cup of espresso. Very smooth to the point its almost ridiculous. 11.5 ABV that is not detectable. Drinkable beyond belief for such a big beer. Sweet and bitter. I’m sure it isn’t the best Imperial Stout brewed today, but it is pretty close. Recommended.
