The Roman Empire had a certain "je ne sais quoi" - festive food culture, extravagant architecture, and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad, and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen - that's still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient - keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant, and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Best beer I have ever tasted. Only problem is the high price point. Would buy a keg full if possible!

Served in a snifter glass.

Appearance: Super dark black with it's brown accent. Thin brown head that rose to maybe a third of a finger's length.

Smell: Deep aroma of coffee and chocolate cream. I want to inhale this.

Taste: Strong potent and complex taste. It's lightly bitter with a touch of sugar and molasses with just the right notch espesso feel.

Mouth: Really sticky. Almost a syrup finish but not as sweet as you would think.

Overall: Yes it is good, in reality it is incredible. Little pricy like most Evil Twin stuff but lives up to the hype. Grab your favorite glass and movie and you are set. Salud!

Poured bottle best before 2015 into New Belgium globe

A-Pours a deep black motor oil like with a thick tan head. Some lacing.

S-Aroma of vanilla, caramel and dark chocolate and hint of coffee roast.

T-Taste is dark chocolate with a strong bitterness, vanilla, hazelnut and roast coffee with a slight boozy aftertaste.

M-Mouthfeel is well balanced oily at first with some stickiness at the end.

O-Overall I enjoyed this beer and it met my expeditions great job evil twin.

A- dark black, viscous pour with a 1/2 inch, tan cappacino head.
S- some roasted malt and dark raisin-like fruits, but mostly delicious dark chocolate. Almost like chocolate covered raisins.
T- follows the nose, bit more fruit, same roasty malts, and tons of dark chocolate. Finishes with a lightly bitter coffee. Smack you lips and you get perfectly roasted coffee
MF - thick but not too thick, coats the mouth and doesn't quit
O- one of my favorite nonBA imp stouts. Would put this right up there with tenfidy. Not much of a coffee stout fan, at least so far--lagunitas cappuccino was mediocre at best and big bad baptist is too overpowering w the coffee. But this does it just subtle enough-almost would like more coffee! Excellent beer; made me happy after a 10.5 hour workday on a Friday
