Drank on-tap at Tørst, Brooklyn, NY
Served in a wine glass
Dark, shimmery, oily, brown/black appearance. The liquid was topped by a creamy, one-finger crown of mocha colored froth. Streaks of drippy lacing coated the glass.
The nose was rich and robust. Strong roasted and chocolate malt notes. Dark fruits. Good dose of espresso. Some brown sugar sweetness.
The taste was similar to the aroma but more complex and intense. Loads of roasted and caramel malts appeared on the front end. Tons of dark chocolate. Intense dark fruit notes. Raisins and plums came through strongest. Hint of vanilla. Touch of roasty bitterness on the finish. At 12% ABV, the alcohol presence was remarkably well hidden.
While the flavor profile was excellent, the mouthfeel was simply the highlight of this beer. It was thick, rich and oily with a super frothy and smooth cabonation. Plush and pillowy soft.
Take an amazing beer and served it at a beer bar that has the most advanced draft system in the country, and you wind up with pure magic in a glass. What a truly memorable experience.

Heard a lot of good things about this beer, so as soon as I saw it I just had to buy one.
Looks great with a thick, dark head that looks like chocolate mousse.
Aroma is awesome with fudgy brownies, a little marshmallow, chocolate, coffee and dark fruit such as cherries and raspberries.
Flavor is the same as aroma. Alcohol is nowhere to be found, making the drinkability quite high. A little sweeter than I usually like, but now I am nit-picking.
Overall I really liked this beer. Once I had tried enough to make a review, I took about 1/2 oz of Eagle Rare bourbon and added it to the beer. Wow, talk about making your very own bourbon stout without shelling out the money for one. Try it, guys and girls. You won't be disappointed.

A - Black, dark brown head has good retention and some lacing.
S/T - Roasted coffee/malts roll into bitter dark chocolate mid palate, finishing with a chocolate syrup sweetness that has minimal bitterness. Booze heat kicks in the finish, maybe a little too much for my taste.
M - Huge body, lower carb level, Leaves the mouth coated, but the booze dries it up a touch.
O - Pretty good stuff here. The booze presence is bit much for my preference, but this is kind of expected with the abv.
