A: Black as night with one of the darkest brown heads I've ever seen.
S: Thick layers of chocolate, roast, caramel and dried dark fruits along with a light licorice note. There is also a moderate coffee aroma and malt sweetness. The moderate alcohol sweetness is surprisingly well hidden until it warms up just a touch.
T: Strong chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and roast up front. A medium hops bitterness along with some roast bitterness that are countered by a moderately strong caramel malt sweetness giving a balance that is light tilled towards the bitter. The finish is off-sweet with lingering flavors of dark roasted grains and alcohol.
M: A very warming, full bodied beer with a medium level of carbonation.
O: Chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and roast dominate in almost overwhelming quantitates with the alcohol being clearly noticeable in the flavor and warming mouth feel.

Poured into large snifter; black with a nice dark brown head that fades slowly.
Smells almost savory; espresso and bitter chocolate dominate.
Taste is huge; sweet chocolate balances with savory coffee and dark fruit. Complex and delicious.
Mouthfeel is big but surprisingly clean for such a huge sweet stout.
Overall, I'm not sure I could tell Evil Twin's imperial stouts apart in a blind tasting, but they make a damn good one.

Bottle poured into a goblet
A - Dark, brown with a small mocha colored head composed of small bubbles of carbonation. Looks like it has a thick and oily body which coats the glass when you swirl the beer around
S - Chocolate, vanilla and caramel are intertwined with coffee and a slight oak. This is a strong and complex nose that brings something different with each sniff
T - Vanilla and caramel sweetness initally. As the beer progresses, there is a bitter coffee and dark chocolate that adds another layer of complexity. The finish has a slight booziness and oak that lingers on the tongue. Really like how it runs the gamet of flavors you'd expect in a good stout and blends them together greatly.
MF - Thick and silky smooth with minimal carbonation. There is a slight astringency and coffee bitterness that lingers on the back end.
O - A great stout from Evil Twin. Love how it brings a wide variety of stout flavors together into one beer and how each sip brings a new aspect
