Wow this is one dark potent beer.

Pours like used motor oil. With a rapidly thinning mocha head. Minimal lacing. All on point for a heavy hitter Imperial Stout.

Smell is of Black Strap Molasses, Burnt Sugar, Caramel, Chocolate Fudge, Dark Fruit and Booze.

Taste follows the nose well.

Mouthfeel is thick and luscious with enough carb to keep things interesting.

Overall a great beer and style representation. Awesome depth and bang for a non BA beer.

Appears a dense dark black with a fluffy tan head that slowly fades away into a gentle cap and collar. Spotty bits of lacing droop back into the sides.
Smell is of black grapes, toasted grains, chocolate, espresso, caramel, and ripe fruit.
Taste is of the aromas with a boozy blast of ripe fruit, sweet caramel, and toasted grains.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, boozy, sweet, with honey roasted nuts, and cereal lingering in the finish.

Poured into large snifter; black with a nice dark brown head that fades slowly.
Smells almost savory; espresso and bitter chocolate dominate.
Taste is huge; sweet chocolate balances with savory coffee and dark fruit. Complex and delicious.
Mouthfeel is big but surprisingly clean for such a huge sweet stout.
Overall, I'm not sure I could tell Evil Twin's imperial stouts apart in a blind tasting, but they make a damn good one.

An imperial stout at $14.99 and 12% ABV. Poured into a chalice.

The pour and the aroma made me salivate! OMG – Great! Well balanced across the roasted malt, ABV and the bitterness/sweetness. Almost like a chocolate milkshake albeit made with no milk and no chocolate and its beer. Hides its ABV well. A beer that changes substantially as it warms. 4.75

A – Pours a black with a reddish brown one-finger head. Slightly viscous. Great lacing. 5

S – Roasty, coffee, dark chocolate, slight sweetness, a bit of alcohol as the beer warms. 4.75

T – Roasted malt, malted chocolate, minor bitterness balanced with some sweetness, very minor notes of dark fruit and whiskey. 4.75

MF – Smooth, creamy (not velvety), medium-heavy, with a slightly dry finish, a bit of a bit in the finish as well. 5.0
