Bottle. Muddy orange pour with little discernable head. Smell is lemon, citrus, floral. Taste is grapefruit, tart lemon peel, caramel, bitter hop finish. Nice mouthfeel - smooth and lasting on the tongue. Strong alcohol presence here but well incorporated with the other flavors.

Big thanks goes out to BeerBuddy2122 for sending me this one in a recent trade! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller oversized wine glass. Poured a hazy red-orange with a one finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount fairly quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, caramel hop, earth, citrus, and bubblegum. The flavor was of sweet malt, earth, citrus, citrus hop, earth hop, and caramel. It had a medium feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. There quite a bit going on in this one if I am honest. Lots of nice notes of citrus and caramel going on here. The kiss of bubblegum on the nose was quite intriguing. Glad I got the chance to try this one and hope to try more of the ones that did not make it to my area of distribution.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy brown/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is hops, herbal, light citrus, some malts as well. Taste is hops, resin, malts, alcohol is present. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good beer, but lacks the punch and bitterness I have come to expect from this style.

A: The beer is very hazy copper orange in color. It poured with a thin off white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of grapefruit citrus in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of grapefruit along with some hints of the underlying caramel malts. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: For a beer of this strength, the alcohol is completely hidden from the taste. It is also well balanced and the bitterness is not overpowering.

Bottle did not have production date but noted best by April 2013.

Poured medium amber that was marginally translucent and had the presence of sediment throughout. Produced a thin natural white head that subsided to an inconsistent layer atop the beer. The smells are typical of European produced American IPAs. It has that dry hop resin aroma to it. Not much on the citrus end of the spectrum, but more of a dark piney smell. Euro US IPAs always have more of a malt counter balance than the subtleness of it in domestic IPAs. Those qualities carry over to the taste. A resin like, dish soap taste has a bite of malts but finishes, surprisingly, with a nice bitterness. This is exactly what I expected out of a western European interpretation of a US dIPA. Evil Twin is the brother of Mikkeler who makes some great American IPAs. Check those out when available (in particular 1000 IBU).
Worth trying!

A: Pours a very hazy golden orange to copper in color. The beer has a quarter finger tall beige to light tan head that reduces to a small patch and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: This beer has a pretty intense hop aroma with lots of grapefruit and citrus notes. There is also a light underlying aroma of caramel malts.

T: This beer starts out with some caramel malt sweetness then the bitterness and the hops flavors kick in. There are lots of grapefruit/citrus flavors but the hop bitterness is not too aggressive. The beer has a light lingering bitterness.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light dryness in the finish.

O: The high ABV for this beer is very well hidden and there is a nice balance of the malts and hops. I enjoyed this beer but would not describe it as easy to drink or sessionable - too intense in flavor and smell but good for sipping.

11.2oz brown bottle into a Mikkeller teku. The brew pours a clouded color of brownish cider. A finger of yellowish tan creamy cap sits atop with decent retention. As the cap fades, it leaves spotty to webby lacework sticking to the glass. A mild swirl effortlessly revives more than a finger of silk back to the surface.

The aroma is catty and herbal with hops. A suggestion of pine, grass and fruity alcohol esters emerge. The grassy character blends into more of an herbal feel that mingles with some mineral to sulfur component. Overall, not a bad smelling brew.

The flavor has an initial surge of sweetness that is somewhat reminescent of belgian candy sugar coupled with caramel or toffee. It quickly fades into a hoppy bitterness that is catty to herbal with a hint of pine. Some minerals and sulfites are also present breaking things up with a soft touch of fusel to solvent alcohol.

This is a medium to fuller bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. Overall this wasnt bad but it wasnt that great either. I imagine while fresh this might have been something but in it's current state it isnt that exciting. For the price, I think most of these Evil Twin offerings are not worth it.

This beer poured out as a nice looking amber color. Slightly hazy with a cream colored head on top. The head settles and doesn't leave any lacing. The smell of the beer is hoppy with a nice sweetness on the nose too. The taste of the beer is also hoppy it's got some citrus notes in there. The flavors of sweet malt balance the beer out a little bit. The mouthfeel is oily and bitter, it's also smooth. Overall it's a good IPA. I enjoyed this beer more than the Molotov Cocktail. This one has more boozy heat on it though.
