2013 bottle, reviewed in 2014.

A: This poured a clear light gold with lots of white head.
S: It smelled like bold crisp grapefruit and funk, with earthy minerals and unripe apricot.
T: It tasted like dank herbal hops and bitter citrus and earthy funk. It had a clean bitter and funky aftertaste.
M: It was somewhat thick with lots of carbonation. Nice oily yet bubbly body.
D: This was a really nice Brett IPA, after a year in the fridge. The scent and taste were complex and bold and really enjoyable. The body was just right, and the finish was clean. So it was easy to drink, but should be sipped. Could age longer, but great now.

Pours hazy yellow color with bubbles racing up the brew to a puffy 2 finger snow white head that was full of bubbles and faded slowly, leaving good spotty foamy lacing and a foamy white layer on top. The second half of the bomber poured very cloudy yellow color as the yeast kicked up and poured out with the rest of the beer and produced a cloudy snow white thick head that faded extremely slowly and left craters as it went down; a very impressive looking second half pour that left outstanding foamy lacing coating the sides and rings as it went down.

Smells of orange peel, grapefruit pith, lemon zest, yeast funk, tangerine, grass, citrus fruit like a lime, dry cracker, grains and piney hops; the citrus dominates and is very light and refreshing smelling, with hints of the brett funk mixing with the malt for an attempt at balance, but clearly this is a hop experience.

Tastes of grapefruit, lemon and orange peel up front, followed by yeast funk, tangerine, grass, citrus fruit, lime, biscuit, toasted grains, pepper, coriander, allspice and piney hops; like the nose, the citrus dominates and is very strong overall yet light and refreshingly easy to drink. There is some funkyness and sour aspects to the taste, but the hops are so citrus-centric that the brew completely masks the 6% ABV and remains light and summery like a Belgian Pale Ale. The aftertaste is dry and bitter with a Belgian beer tart feel after each swallow, but the flavor remains complex and tasty with each sip.

Mouthfeel is zesty and on the smooth side, with a medium to chewy body, light fizzy carbonation and a dry bitter finish that has grainy and funky notes mixed in with the citrus flavor blast.

This beer got better after each sip and was a very different IPA that was complicated and yet driven by the tangy citrus flavors that attacked your palate with each sip, and then slid over your tongue and left a slightly bitter dry refreshing coating that left me wanting more. More a Belgian Pale Ale or Belgian IPA than a true American IPA to me, but any way you view it, to me this was a damn fine beer and easy to drink. A great summer IPA.

A- Poured to a snifter from the bomber with a golden, light orange body. There is a slight haziness to the body atop which a massive, puffy foamy white head forms. Head retention is good and a big pillow remains with a thick ring. Thick patches of lace here and there.

S- Aroma of mostly hops as the Brett seems mostly clean here. Pine, resin, citrus zest, orange and floral notes from the hops. Tropical and stone fruit hint could be from Brett and the hops.

T- Tropical and stone fruit notes of fruit pits, tangerine, peach, apricot and such pick up compared to the nose and meld with pine, floral, resinous and grapefruit citrus peel hints. Those hops are joined by a bit of dry, fruity, straw-like yeast notes.

MF- Medium-dry body that is light but foams up almost to champagne level with some creaminess. Carbonation is uber high. Light bitterness in the finish.

Slight Brett character, as one would expect with many 100% Brett ferments, with a nice hop profile that isn't too much of any one thing.
